I know what you mean, with a 81 tooth spur and a small pinion my motor contacts the case as well.
Try a 87 tooth spur gear with a bigger pinion. Basically you are getting the punch you want by using a bigger spur rather than a smaller pinion.
Hope that helps.

Just get new ones. The sping and washer help keep the dogbone in place.

Re: HELP !! is this Edinger? Cadillac? or plain-ol-RC10???
One of the things I like about RC10's is there's an unlimited number of configurations. So many parts are available you can truly make it your own. I do like to keep "period correct" parts on mine. Meaning, if you have a 1989 esc and motor, try to match with other components (body, radio t...

Re: Totally overwhelmed! ESC's, Motors, Servo's, Gearing
So FEWER teeth on a pinion (and I'm guessing the spur as well) means the gearing is LOWER? ie. easier to move the vehicle? Almost...fewer teeth on a pinion is a lower gear ratio, slower top speed with more low-end toqure. Conversely, fewer teeth on a spur gear is a higher gear ratio, faster top-spe...

I like to run laps down the sidewalk and back up the street. Takes about 7 seconds per lap (maybe less IDK). I like to get into the rythem or zone of running laps even though they are very short laps. The sidewalk is skinny and the "corners" are different, one is a intersection and the oth...

Re: individual cell heat shrink
Thanks for the offer. :D I actually got the single cell heat shrink from Tower yesterday. I have wrapped the cells and will post pics tonight. They look so good with the fresh heat shrink. Pics now attached, I'm not sure where I want to use these. I'll leave them seperated for now. They arn't perfec...

Re: individual cell heat shrink
new pics I removed the battery braid to seperate the cells. Then, used goof off to remove the solder flux and some CLR on a toothbrush to remove the leakage on the top of the batteries. Both products worked well. neither of those products damaged the plastic. I hope the clr didn't ruin the battery, ...

individual cell heat shrink
I've read a couple threads regarding vintage battery restoration. I'm restoring a set of black 1700 SANYO’s as well. I have removed the original clear heat shrink that was on each cell. Now I need to put new heat shrink on. It looks like I need 1 inch clear heat shrink. Where can I source this size ...
