Considering a Bandit. Questions
I've always had a soft spot for old Traxxas stuff like the Bullet. When the TRX-1 came out BITD, I was really intrigued. I'm not overly knowledgeable on Traxxas stuff, but how much of the TRX-1 DNA made it into the Bandit we know today? I have this strange idea for a project to add some type of fibe...

Re: Tomahawk rere driving experience
I have a variety of runners including early RC10s, an FAV, a Wild One and a Scorpion re-re, which is very close to the Tomahawk. There's no comparison between the re-re Scorpion and the Wild One/FAV. I love my Wild One. It has the aforementioned low COG that keeps it fairly planted but...its heavy a...

Re: Original Ultima popularity question
I wasn't aware of any behind the scenes dealings but maybe there were. I was in college at the time and a fairly avid weekend racer. Myself and about 10 or 15 racer friends from our home track in Springfield traveled frequently to races throughout central Illinois, down to St. Louis and even to Dav...

Original Ultima popularity question
For those that were "there" back in the day, how popular was the original Ultima? From what I remember as a kid, there was much interest in Kyosho claiming and then succeeding in making the Ultima the "next world champion". After that though, attention seemed to return to the RC1...

Re: Losi noob with some JRX-Pro questions
Thanks for the heads up radioactivity. There's some good stuff one there. Now to choose which resto to start first, my Graphite Team Car or my JRX-Pro.

Team Car arms
I've managed to get ahold of a pair of Team Cars, one graphite, one tub. The graphite car unfortunately has dyed arms. I have some black wide front arms in my parts collection. Were the black arms ever standard on the Team Car later in the production run? Thanks. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...

Re: Losi noob with some JRX-Pro questions
Thanks for the info guys. I'm not decided on making it a runner or shelfer yet. It'll definitely need a body and maybe wheels to be a presentable shelf queen. Its probably my 2nd favorite Losi after the original JR-X2 so I'm happy to have it.

Losi noob with some JRX-Pro questions
Well, after collecting too many Tamiyas, a couple Kyoshos and a stack of RC10s, a Losi finally found a way into my garage courtesy of a good friend. Being totally new to Losi products I have a few questions to start. Losi buggies always touted having a graphite chassis out-of-the-box, but this JRX-P...

Re: I guess you have seen this
Good question. There was a Super Shot knock off and a TXT-1 clone too, both very close to the originals. From what I remember, they just faded away like they were only one production run or something. Curious if Tamiya goes after these copies the way they cracked down on the repro decals and such ye...

Re: I guess you have seen this
I don't have a horse in this race, but the guys at Tamiyaclub are either embracing this or losing their minds over it. A lot of interesting discussion over intellectual property theft and such.

Re: Tamiya pricing going through the roof today
No, I'd rather not scapegoat Trump. As previously stated, not trying to be political, Throw the tariff idea out for a moment. I simply want to clarify because I'm dense. When Traxxas did this a while back, the Stampede sold for about $199 at most retailers as well as Traxxas's own online store. Towe...

Re: Tamiya pricing going through the roof today
This appears to be bigger than just our corner of the RC world. From what I've read on other forums, its all Tamiya's products, even their plastic models. It doesn't seem that RCmart or Tamico prices have been effected yet. This leads me to think its possibly tariff related (neutral statement, not t...

Re: Tamiya pricing going through the roof today
Raising prices to cover lower sales is understandable, but price increases this extreme and sudden stinks of pure greed. Do you really think the Trump tariffs are to blame? If so, I guess Tamiya can't be faulted

Tamiya pricing going through the roof today
So evidently, Tamiya has raised the prices on all their kits across the board. Remember the when the Blackfoot was $169 yesterday, well now its $211. Super Clod at $299? Nope, try $412 today. Weren't Sand Scorchers like $309? Now $427. The last Bruiser I saw was something like $780 but today its a s...
