Re: VXL vs XL
p.s. since the metal gear sets came out several planetary sets have failed locally also...not something to expect outta that setup Actually, I've busted the planetary gears. But never anything else (plastic or metal). I put it down to the grease all leaking out. I didn't have time that week to do a...

Re: VXL vs XL
to add a bit of perspective... all the current top-of-the-line racers have plastic gears (but the top shaft gear) and afaik everyone uses BL now... True. I've run a Traxxas 2WD tranny with plastic gears and a brushless + lipo setup with no problems whatsoever. Yes, the wear out faster than the meta...

Re: Racer's blues
Have you tried using toys, costumes or role playing to spice things up? LOL! Brilliant :) Anyway, everyone goes through that in a hobby I guess. With rifle shooting, I did it on and off during a number of years when I was younger and at points I found it truly engaging and at other points I've foun...

lol, I kind of understand why people might get a little downbeat when beaten by an RTR basher Traxxas. But someone should take getting beaten by an SRT on the chin.

Re: My SRT.
Looks great! I miss the old Traxxas as well. The last one I bought was a Bandit kit, on clearance, for like $79. Probably the last Traxxas kit ever sold at that shop. Me too, last and only Traxxas I bought was a Bandit kit. For years I didn't realize that they had gone the RTR only route. Its a sha...

Re: My SRT.
NICE! Its amazing how close yet far this is to a Rustler, just about everything is different, but when you look closely you there's an aftermarket part that approximates the SRT very very closely indeed.

Re: The new Rally car
Not a Delta specifically, I simply meant that it could look more like a real rally car. When I first saw the Slash even though I couldn't tell what truck it was my first thought was "Awesome! That looks like a real race truck!" Like you I LOVE the chassis, and Traxxas support is always good.

Re: The new Rally car
Next craze? I don't know, there have been rally cars before and most of them better looking than this. Not to be too unkind, but as far as rally cars go, this is really quite ugly. What this car has over other rally cars is size and off road ability, something like a Tamiya XV-01 is very low and no...
