Neat little plane
I still have a very old powered glider that hasn't flown in years. the 2+ metre wing wasn't exactly easy to transport :-/

Re: Newbies... sheesh
there is a video of them on youtube somewhere (i cant keep a link like that live at home, I'd be divorced), they did the shoot in vegas (who da gussed?) at one of the indoor tracks. Putting my feminist hat on (I'm a dude, but I do have a feminist hat ;) ) is it little wonder that so few girls get i...

Re: Philosophical question about what vintage is.
My 7 year old and I put our 84' Supra in the lineup at a local cruise in last night and my son had been looking forward to it all week and was almost in tears when everyone surrounded the 88' IROC and the 91' TA in our lane, but scoffed at the "jap car" Can't imagine why that scene...

Re: Philosophical question about what vintage is.
Well, I think "vintage" should have a date with it, like "1985 vintage" cause then there is a reference. The word vintage is seemingly misused more often than not (go figure!) Lol Where did you get the year 1985 from? It isn't bad, because in terms of cars anything that old will...

Re: Philosophical question about what vintage is.
Here's a question: where's the age cutoff? And if originality counts, what if it's something really original, but mundane? Like, for example, my own beloved Toyota truck: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-plYTjbqTdzY/Tc3QdztCGJI/AAAAAAAABSo/XQVTb_IvM-g/s640/DSCF0468.JPG When the 2013 models come o...

Because they are still cool I wouldn't object to seeing that at a vintage car show. Heck, I wouldn't object to seeing a Nissan Skyline drifter either!RedScampi wrote:Well, they still let them into vintage car shows...

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
The only thing that bugs me is that Traxxas (and Redcat and their other Chinese clones) have somehow earned the title "hobby grade." Why aren't they? I don't know much about Redcat but cars like the Twister XB gets half decent reviews, and it has decent parts support, right? Traxxas has p...

Re: Philosophical question about what vintage is.
Well, it depends on the hotrod! Some are far too different to stock, or even largely brand new fiberglass bodied machines... Other are proper vintage machines, I don't think many people would argue that a flat head powered, steel bodied hot rod isn't a vintage car. Something like this 32 roadster fo...

Re: Philosophical question about what vintage is.
I can't blame for people wanting more power, ease of maintenance, and reliability either. People do it with 1:1 cars too, a 57 Chevy with an LS1 is still an old car...

How do we know they are legal? Who's doing the scrutineering? Is there a box they have to fit into?

Re: Philosophical question about what vintage is.
This question is so subjective that I suspect that after a 1000 post thread there will be no consensus :) I'm no expert, but I'd say that if it is a runner using modern running gear is not a problem at all. I don't see the point of running NiCds when there's better more readily available technology ...

Re: RC10 3s lipo battery fitment?
Jesus! That looks serious, have you had a look at the "speed run" machines people build at the Traxxas boards. (Yeah sorry I did say Traxxas ;) ) Most of them run foam tyres: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u429/gpowerf/7590964046_5df22f4f4c_z.jpg A couple of tonnes of ballast up front...
