Re: Chassis ID please.

Thanks Jeff, I'll keep a look out for a ae gearbox, i've tried it with original cougar, cougar 2 and fireblade gearboxes (no cougar 95 or 2000 here :( ) I may be able to get a fireblade box to fit with a bit of modification. The steel suspension bracket has "3 degree toe in" stamped on it,...

Re: Chassis ID please.

Ditto. Check AE or Losi gearboxes. -Jeff Thanks, is there any reason you suggest AE or Losi? I've only got a couple of B4 boxes here, are there any models you can think of in particular that you think might fit? I'd quite like to build this up now, so hoping someone can suggest a suitable box for i...

Chassis ID please.

Have any of you seen a chassis of this type before? I bought it recently thinking it was from a Fireblade 2000. But it's quite different, i'm pretty sure it's from a Schumacher though. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k244/pikergonecarpin/DSCN1481.jpg This is the base of the chassis next to a stand...

Re: Schumacher 3000

Hi Zipster, it's a Mardave Cobra. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k244/pikergonecarpin/DSCN1435.jpg It's an old buggy but pretty rugged. If you're after a bodyshell i think Mardave are about to re-release a 2011 version of it so spares are listed on the website now http://mardaveonline.co.uk/Price...

Re: Schumacher 3000

I've got a couple of CAT 3000's. Great cars to drive and plenty good enough to keep with the more modern stuff. Here's some pics of my two. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k244/pikergonecarpin/DSCN1469.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k244/pikergonecarpin/DSCN1428.jpg http://i90.photobucket.c...

Re: Lexan Dilemas.

One is for the Cat 3000, the the other is the full body set for the original Cougar including the wing and end plates.

Lexan Dilemas.

I've been digging around my parts boxes and found a couple of vintage new shells. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k244/pikergonecarpin/DSCN1445.jpg At first i thought, yeah i'll paint these up. But now i can't seem to find the will to break the bags open. It seems such a shame, especially as i mig...

Re: Fireblade 2000

The viscodrive just seems to smooth everything out, no wheelspin anytime. It's quite tunable too, by changing the tooth setting on the drive, or altering the oil weight in the viscous coupling itself. I've got the instructions here and it seems they made different layshafts so you could fit the unit...

Re: Fireblade 2000

Yes, i stuck a 10.5 in and had a thrash around.

It's still a nice handling car, but i now need to find a replacement visco layshaft as mine seems to have a very slight bend

Fireblade 2000

Hi everyone, i'm new here but have a collection of old racers i've been reminiscing about recently so here they are dug out. I'm in the process of cleaning them up again to see how they compare to my newer buggies. Here's the Firelade 2000 i've tidied up. It's box art'ish, with full carbon chassis, ...
