Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?

Mine was just delivered, today. I was a bit worried when I picked up the box and heard loose parts rolling around in there. Bag F wasn't fully sealed and all the ball joint ends were scattered throughout the box. They all appear to be there, though. Gotta love quality control in this day and age. :(...

Re: Important R/C cars to the history of R/C

I like to think that the Scorpion was the first real manufacturers attempt at a competition 2wd buggy. Unfortunately for it, though, the RC10 came out and literally changed the face of competitive racing. 8) I also think the JRX2 was very important as it finally brought competition to the RC10's dom...

I just checked my order and it has been shipped! For what it's worth, I never did receive email notification. I still get Tower's ad emails but I haven't received anything else.

Re: Part Differences - Old vs. New

I notice that it says, "This item is not available for direct purchase." Really?

Does that mean it only comes with the kit and that's your only chance to get it? I hope not.

Dang. The chassis is listed at $71.99 and the nose at 26.69. A bit higher than the days of old, but the plastic prices seem pretty good. I also noticed the spur gear was 48-pitch.

Re: 10L Bumper Question

My photo above is exactly what was in the box with the original RC10L release. I bought that when it was first released...well before they had the 10Lss.

Rooster is correct. The original RC10L came with a narrow and a wide front bumper.

I think that looks pretty cool, actually.

Back in the late 80s, my cousin used model paint on his Tamiya Toyota Toms. Every time he hit a wall he left a bunch of paint on the carpet track. It was hilarious!

Re: Kent Clausen RC10L Tide Build

I tried to make a Tide 10L back in '90s. It didn't go well for me so I hope you have good results. Mine had bleed-through and the Pactra Fluorescent orange came out looking pink. So, I added some similarly-colored Novak stickers and it kind of worked. :) This is an Associated Lumina body on my first...
