Excellent! This is great info to have. I've always wondered about the gearing for the Ultima. To me, it always seemed kinda high so you'd have to run a really small pinion. I can't understand why anyone would want to run the overdrive gears (maybe for oval?). Think about it, a 2.53 tranny and a 66 t...

Nice work, scr8p. I wonder if I could do the same thing with a B4 motor plate and 2.25 stealth for my A&L conversion. I'd hate to chop up a perfectly good motor plate and since the B4 plate doesn't have the integrated rear bumper, it might work. I love this place...so many ideas!

top gear=final pinion gear large underdrive gear=counter gear (the gear mounted on the same shaft as the final pinion gear) small underdrive gear=the small gear molded with the spur gear (center gear in manual) did I get it right? Correct! Don't forget to count 2 or 3 times. I swear, my eyes start ...

The ratio on the 32 pitch version was 3.03:1. Then you had to multiply by your spur/pinion to get your final ratio. I would guess that the 48 pitch version would be close to the original. (# diff gear teeth/ # top gear teeth) x (# large underdrive gear teeth/# small underdrive gear teeth) x (spur/pi...

Looks fantastic! The blue screws really add a nice touch. I'm planning on putting a viper body on mine, if they ever show up again. :( MIP steering is a good choice too. Thankfully, these are still available. Oh, I think HPI makes the carbon fiber decal. I use that on the sides of my buggy's wings. ...

scr8p If you can post a top view pic please - Set up tip the rear suspension will work much better if the out drives on the tranny are 1/8" to 3/16" in front of the axles. suspension does not work at all if outdrives are behind axles. Imagine a line between the center of the joint of the ...

I almost bid on that. But, it was missing the tranny. Excellent price for the metal parts.

Alright, that makes sense. I was trying to plot where to drill holes for a stealth tranny. When I looked at the holes on the A&L and on the stock RC10, they didn't line up. So, I just have to make sure I make the holes referencing the tranny holes, not the bulkhead holes.

So, the transmission sits farther back than on a stock RC10? I mean, the front of the transmission actually has some space between it and the rear bulkhead, right?

Very nice. I'm using all black parts on mine. Also, I'm going to add a stealth tranny. Going to have to drill and counter sink some holes but that should be no problem.
