4-40 helicoils are available, but many areas of these things don't have enough meat to insert a helicoil. If it does, it's an option. The simple and quick fix is a drop of CA into the stripped hole, let it set up a tick, then thread the screw into the proper depth. Then try to remember for next time...

BTW, if you want to use Tamiya wheels, you need to find CRP RC10 axles that allow you to use 5 x 11mm metric bearing wheels. They pop up on eBay once in a while, too.

Black is black... it covers EVERYTHING. FWIW, I did a Custom Works sprint car in red a few years ago, and quite by accident, I found a fantastic way to get a beautiful bright red dye. We used to use RIT red and it would get dark and look funky. When I did the sprint car, I was trying for a bright or...

Nothing old is nearly as efficient as the new stuff. Not even the chain or belt drives. A lot of dirt oval guys still run the old Stealth gearboxes, and will replace the internal gears with 64p Thorp versions, or narrowed stock 48p gears, and really work on the friction in them until they spin effor...

Ok, so who else wasted 2 hours looking through the photos of the vintage R/C club races? That is some really great stuff.

Not MIP—it's an A&L belt drive. Prety nice tranny, actually. You can still find them new on eBay every once in a while, though mostly for Ultimas. The steering is the same company... Chris Alec and Daryl Lane owned that company way back when. Now Daryl is Factory Works, and you can buy a brand n...

Thanks! I hope to get some input on the body from this site. I did the bodywork at age 13 (20+years ago) after mucking up the original body. Dahms Warrior. I ran one of those on an old Schumacher Cat and painted up a few for friends... The best part is all of the old Dahms stock was bought and revi...

I have a few contacts for real graphite/carbon sheet, but today's technology is almost only woven fiber. The strength to thickness ratio compared to the stuff we're seeking is 10x greater. We all want to find carbon that mimics the plain, dark grey stuff that Composite Craft and others used way back...

You have a clue on the wheels Jay Halsey used for the front foe his Worlds car? :) :D Yeah, I do. Someone just sniped me on a pair on eBay . :x  :x I need to pay attention a bit better during the day... I was biting my tongue until I was sure they were mine, and I thought I had entered enough...
