Nope, purely Parma. Those little caps were bulk container lids for little plastic vials. We used to get diff balls in plastic bottles that had identical caps. Many guys only used the Parma diff cover and the Parma "monster" wing, with big side pods on the side. As much as I dislike(d) Parm...

Nope, Parma. Hot Trick did not do any Lexan pieces.

I don't think it's a debate on if the parts ever existed—I'm sure they did for Associated—but as production pieces, it's hard to say that they did if none of us have ever seen or heard of them. I owned an RC10 in 1983, too, and raced it every weekend, and I never saw many of those parts highlighted ...

Re: Checkpoint GOLD

Checkpoint came out with a fast motor in the mid 80'. This is the Checkpoint Gold. Do you know of anyone who has one or maybe an old TRINITY motor with the tiny slotcar brushes? I have been collecting old Checkpoints for a while now, and yes, they are difficult to come by. There were quite a few di...

The last Mirage body I saw on eBay was over a year ago, and I missed it. I have only seen that one in the 2 or 3 years I have been looking for it. It sold for a measly $16, IIRC. As far as I know, it was last packaged and sold by Twister, which has LONG been out of business. Before that, Twister bod...

Nice work! Great info, too. Good to know these little details about the history of the car.

Any of you guys remember when the first year the RC10 came out? It came out with fiberglass battery hold down bars. I am looking for a pair. Used or new will. I had one of the first ones in '83/'84, and I believe the car was released in '82 or '83 sometime (I'll have to check on that one). I don't ...

JG and Parma sold the diamond-shaped wing buttons. More than a few companies sold aluminum round ones, like Wolf, Trinity, RCPS and a few others. :)

Vintage Ads: RCPS Mirage Body

To me, the quintessential RC10 aftermarket body, and the single item I'd like to find the most in new condition. I had my sights on one last year on eBay and fell asleep at the wheel and missed it. I'm still kicking myself. If another one pops up, stay back—I'm ready to go big. ;) This company sold ...

Vintage Ads: RC10 Diffs/Trannys

Thought you guys might like to see a few of these. These ads are circa-1988 from Competition Plus, which was a great magazine that was almost exclusively race recaps and product tests. It was a racer's magazine, unlike the hobbiest/basher stuff that we have to deal with today. I'll scan these when I...

Hard to recall the exact sidewall proportion. The last time I used a set of those tires was right around 1992 or so, on a JRXpro. That was when the X-pattern rears were the hot ticket. I'm sure Ben can set us straight on exactly what they are. If Schuey made a tire like that, I'd be interested in kn...
