Re: Removing glued on tires

Re: Why do you guys do this?
Oh no not that video again. There was a good deal of controversy over it as rightly there should be. They take a completely random old car and smash it into a brand new car and all of a sudden that makes all old cars death traps? You want to talk about ignorance!! Sure, a lot of antique cars are dea...

Re: Removing glued on tires
I've also heard many a time that putting the tires in the freezer overnight works. I don't know how effective that method is though.
There is a lot of different adhesives out there so you might have to try multiple methods.

A vibratory tumbler seems like it would be gentler on parts. With a rotary tumbler your parts would tend to crash over each other I would think?

Re: Removing glued on tires
Use tongs or a slotted spoon. Drop 'em in for a bit. Hold them under the boiling water. Take them out and immediately start trying to peel the tire from the rim(s) http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/7299/boilingwater1.jpg Just try not to burn your little piggies. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies...

Re: Cleaning cast alloy / Aluminum
Before I bought one I was researching them and found something out about this particular model. They're made in a random factory somewhere and then various companies just slap their own labels on them. Heres Eastwood for example trying to peddle it for 200 bucks! http://www.eastwood.com/ew-hd...

Re: Cleaning cast alloy / Aluminum
I have a Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum Tumbler. I bought it to polish aluminum but the media I used (corn cobs) apparently isn't abrasive enough. It wouldn't polish the aluminum to an acceptable level no matter how long I left the parts in for. I bought it from this place: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProdu...

Re: MRC MT10 & Futaba FXT-10
There isn't a truck version of the FX-10. Though CRP did sell a truck conversion kit for them. The FX-10 for the most part was just a re-badged Tamiya Striker. Around the same time Futaba also came out with an aluminum tubbed, ball diffed stadium truck called the FXT as seen in this thread. It sport...
