Re: gold pan basic good handling setup questions?
Motor gearing...I would start (for stealth trans) around 26/78 and check temps after every 2 minutes of run time (stop if it gets 140 ish). If the heat goes up to there before 6 minutes, drop 2 teeth and after it is cooled, try again. The gears are 48 pitch. Thanks, just to make sure we're on the s...

Re: 25 YEARS OF THE RC10 (See page 1)
thanks for the info. i don't think i want to modify my gold pan in that way... especially since i already have the right stealth for it to begin with.
from where you sit, can you tell if there's any market or desirability for these t2b2t3b3 trannies?

Re: 25 YEARS OF THE RC10 (See page 1)
sounds like he has a t2 or b2/b3/t3 trans. Aha! Thanks. That is probably it because it looks just like this one that I googled using your references: http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/myLvKGvvUtKaWl6UOlej9ow.jpg The next question is, is there any use I can make of this for my regular RC10? I a...

Re: 25 YEARS OF THE RC10 (See page 1)
Already been through the amazing first page... Without going through the whole 21 pages, is there any coverage of the version of RC10 that had a stealth case with only two holes in it's case for the chassis floor? i bought a stealth of ebay a few years ago, black case, but only two mounting holes fo...

pics loaded...Narrow arm, old gold pan converting to Worlds
So I got an original gold pan RC10 back in the spring of '86 after working winter break as a starving first year college student. (Freshly back from living in Australia, for my Aussie mates), I splurged and got the full ball bearing kit. I wish I remember if it was Edinger or Cadillac, and I just th...

Grow by themselves. LOL. Pics tomorrow. I reckon I should start a proper thread and not hijack others.DaveM wrote:Hi Peter,
That's how it goes.
You start with one and they grow by themselves.
Pics please.
Cheers, Dave.

Re: A tale of 2 stealths
Another perfect reference, thanks mate. OT: I've stripped down my gold tub, removed all the old gritty foam two-sided tape, and used a spare B-stamp as a drill guide to drill the stealth holes in my 30yo A-stamp. Gonna start putting it back together with the World's front setup and stock (but stealh...

Re: A tale of 2 stealths
Sooo, I just spazzed and bought two USA stealth cases from Amain, quite literally because you guys were talking about hogging them up. I have a smooth turning white stealth I bought off ebay a year ago that's going into my drilled gold A-stamp. Since the ebay stealth was used, its presumably vintage...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
Damn. This re-released WC was super tempting. I was hoping the quality problems would have been smoothed out by now. Bummer.
I'll keep checking this thread though, in case there's a turnaround.

Re: Original gold pan: properly securing a lipo pack?
actually, i do have the stock battery cup, and the fiberglass strap that spans it. but that won't solve the "problem" of the battery wedged pretty tightly against the servo mount. are you in agreement with the rc104ever that it's ok to have the battery tight up against the servo mount? i w...

Re: Original gold pan: properly securing a lipo pack?
ta, for the links. i already have the battery in hand. it's a gens-ace 4000mah, 2s, 25c, hard case, but with rounded sides on the long axes. so far i have been doing part of what the canadian bloke suggested... i basically jammed it into the 30yo rear bulkhead and used the aft servo mount to keep it...

is there a place for rc8.2e discussion?
i just scanned the board index here, (might have missed something), but didn't see any appropriate forums for discussing the rc8.2e. not sure if there is a place here. otherwise, rc10talk has been HUGELY helpful to me in getting my old gold pan sorted out with brushless/lipo/2.4ghz gear. many thanks...

Re: Original gold pan: properly securing a lipo pack?
thanks to my aussie mates (i was a schoolboy in OZ), for helping. :) i'll for sure be stripping my gold chassis and giving a good cleaning with a proper solvent for getting grease and wax off. and also, i'm very glad to hear dave's idea of using a B stamp for a drill guide... because i was secretly ...
