Original gold pan: properly securing a lipo pack?
so i converted my original ball bearing gold pan to a mild brushless setup with a stock AE 3300kv brushless and xp BL speed controller that were brand new takeoffs from some newer AE kit. I got a 2s/4000mah battery for it and that cheap flysky radio. everything is working great, and i'm ready to sta...

Re: gold pan basic good handling setup questions?
Peter, which track? Joey, my local track: http://elingsraceway.blogspot.com/?m=1 Santa Barbara scene is pretty small compared with greater LA. There is only racing every other Saturday, and four classes: 1/10 truck, 1/10 buggy, 1/8 electric, 1/8 nitro. That's it. No vintage class. As being narrow a...

Re: gold pan basic good handling setup questions?
EDIT: nevermind. i found the '94 world's under the plain old RC10 manual link on the team associated site. [quote="DaveM"I would suggest you start to set your car up like the 94 Worlds manual. Cheers, Dave. :)[/quote] i'm on the team associated web site for manuals for discontinued models...

Re: gold pan basic good handling setup questions?
thanks mate. i'll get to looking at that '94 worlds manual. in the mean time, i swear i've seen some shock oil listed as 30wt. does that mean i can use 30wt motor oil as shock oil in the old gold shocks? in the mean time, here are some snaps i just took. with some 20 year old bolink foamies for pave...

gold pan basic good handling setup questions?
Got a mid-late 80's full ball bearing gold pan. Converted to brushkess with a stock 3300kv Reedy that was a takeoff from a new kit that went straight to a hotrod motor. I think I want to try to jump into the fray of twice a month racing at the local dirt track and am looking for a basic spring and s...

Re: gold pan: converting from narrow to wide front arms, par
I'm asking seriously, not condescendingly, why would someone need to order arm mounts (6208) to convert to wide arms? They're already on the car, right? Or do you NEED the 6207 ones? Also, are there white long arms available? In my case, it was complete and utter ignorance. I didn't know if the mou...

Re: gold pan: converting from narrow to wide front arms, par
very helpful... now another question: when i look at the rc10 worlds build manual, it lists a part number 6207 for the front arm mounts. but when i look at tower hobbies otherwise pretty comprehensive list of parts, it does not have the 6207. but amazon does. what gives? should i use the 6207 for a ...

Re: gold pan: converting from narrow to wide front arms, par
I think I might order up some turnbuckles and center steer parts to finish this conversion to wide front. I swear I asked this once before but which lengths of steering arm and upper-arm turnbuckles do I need? I dont mind looking it up in one of the manuals but I dont know which rc10's had them... o...

Re: Strange behavior from FlySky radio?
Thanks for the suggestions so far guys.
I haven't tried recal yet.
I should add that when I'm completely stopped and go to full braking, sometimes it reverses and sometimes it doesn't... it's very balky and indecisive about it.
I hope its not the speed controller. It was brand new.

Strange behavior from FlySky radio?
80's gold pan converted to BL/lipo/dsm Or maybe it's the motor/esc combo, which I should mention is: http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachments/r-c-items-sale-trade/1052221d1365099573-team-associated-reedy-3300kv-540r-brushless-motor-w-sc700-bl-esc-sc10b-rs-sc10-reedy.jpg So, a stock Team Associated br...

Re: Pictures of Gene Husting's Original RC10
This is the original RC10 that was hand-crafted by Curtis Husting. I shot the pictures 4/5/08 at Gene Husting's home in Huntington Beach, CA. http://aedownloads.com/pdf/originalrc10.pdf I will later combine these images with photo-by-photo commentary by Gene and possibly Curtis and save as PDF. Re: gold pan: recommend some street basher tire/wheels?

gold pan: recommend some street basher tire/wheels?
now that i'm bashing my old gold pan again after a BL/lipo/DSM conversion, the 25 year old bolink foamies i've had on there since back in the day are getting used up quickly. Anyone recommend something to use for street bashing when these are gone?
