Re: Rebuilding my JRX Pro-SE
As I'm iterating to finalize the design, I'm starting to think about how to configure this in a way/ways others are most likely to use. V1 was designed around the TLR 22 4.0/LXT geometry because my Pro SE has the Jammin Jay Steering Enhancement Kit which came with the larger LXT uprights. I presume ...

Re: Early 80's Kyosho Rocky 4WD
If you decide to put money into it, Kyosho recently started a retro styled Le Mans brushless motor series. Not cheap, but pretty sharp. I've been putting them in all my retro Kyosho builds on principle. LE MANS 480 GOLD Brushless Motor 21.5T LE MANS 240S Brushless Motor 19.5T LE MANS 480T Brushless2...

Re: Early 80's Kyosho Rocky 4WD
Thanks for all this! To be sure, I'm not hoping to retire should I find a buyer! Just curious to learn about it. This one has been sitting in a box in the basement for 40 years. I enjoyed building it then probably only ran it outside a half dozen times at most, including last weekend to see if it s...

Re: Early 80's Kyosho Rocky 4WD
And so in the interest of getting to 30 posts(!), let me see if I can pick a few brains to figure out what I have here. I saw just one ad on ebay for a Rocky - actually it's for a pair of Rockys - and the seller is asking $1089. Is there something quite so special about this model? It looks to me y...

Re: Rebuilding my JRX Pro-SE
Finally got my 3Dprinters up and running and also found time to get back to working on an RC project. I took some time to alter my upright design to accommodate the Aluminum 22 2.0 spindles. Apologies the pictures didn't come out the greatest. I had to offset the upper camber link back to clear the ...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives
Something I tried to explore was a yokomo axle that is 60.5mm. Unfortunately, none of the wheels shafts would fit the Rocky hubs right. Yokomo offered a wheel shaft in aluminum, which would be neat. But unless the yokomo CV joint is compatible with something else, this is a dead end. yokz2-010rb_1.j...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky and Other Hardware Alternatives
As cas22 mentioned above and verified: the Tamiya outdrives, part number OP-218, can be substituted for the RK-21 outdrives. When I first put mine together before making the CV post, I noticed a slight binding as it felt like a spline would catch something, but it's not an issue now. I've done some ...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky
If you're wanting to ditch your JIS plastic thread hardware for hex drive but don't want to thread M3 machine screws into all the plastic holes, which runs the risk of stressing the screw holes, Axial has a variety of fasteners in M3 and the elusive M2.6 Kyosho has a lot of M3 as well, but the butto...

Did I get this from here? I feel like I got this one from RC10Talk.
If so, here it is, again, in this relevant thread...

Re: What RC Videos Do You Like On Youtube?
When I was reading magazines about this I never knew they made pit stops for batteries and such.
