Re: Racer's, lets talk about the new breeds of 2wd buggies..

I'm currently racing a B4.2 and make the A-main every week. It's a great car. My replacement car will be a YZ-2. Yes, it was deigned for high bite tracks, but there are people already successfully running them on medium bike tracks. I don't see why there is any reason that it couldn't be setup for a...

Re: brushes and springs

Do you need lay down or stand up brushes? Do you need springs that mirror each other or 2 that are exactly the same?

Re: Rc10 short arm/ 6 gear setup and race discussion

Installed the new Lunsford tie-rods with RPM ball cups today. Damn those things are tight! I'm not actually sure the RPM ball cups are going to work. I also re-did the diff with new rings and a set of 12 ceramic diff balls. After breaking in the diff, it feels really smooth. Now I just need to get t...

Re: Rc10 short arm/ 6 gear setup and race discussion

I race weekly, so I do understand how to jump. Even if I try to level it out it still lands nose first. I put a shorty in and all the way to the back and that helped a little. I have a blue front spring on now but even that didn't have the desired effect. I might try a softer rear spring and see if ...

Re: Rc10 short arm/ 6 gear setup and race discussion

Took the car for a drive outside and noticed that it is nose diving off of jumps. I've had this problem when my short arm car for some time but thought after rebuilding everything that I would have solved it. Even with the front spring fully compressed it would still nose dive. Do I need a heavier s...

Re: Rc10 short arm/ 6 gear setup and race discussion

Joey, I'm using the 2.2 conversion that AE offers. The front axles are blue. I'm also using the single hole, re-re front shock tower.

Re: Rc10 short arm/ 6 gear setup and race discussion

Got it all put together. I ordered a set of Lunsford turnbuckles and a new set of diff balls and rings. The car is setup with 35 wt, #1 pistons and silver springs in the front and 32.5 wt, #1 pistons and green springs in the rear. In the front, I unscrewed the lower shock eye two turns to get a litt...

Re: how hot of a motor can the rc10 classic take?

The problem with the 6 gear is that you have to crank the diff nut down pretty tight so that it won't slip. I can't imagine the diff living long with a 8.5T. If I remember right, the mod motors of the day were 18-20 turn brushed.

I ordered the AE 2.2 conversion kit, so I'll have the same setup as you.
