Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
I've been debating the electronics issue myself. There's talk of a "vintage" class sprouting at our track, so I've held off on buying anything for now. If we don't do the class, I've been throwing around running a Novak 410M5 with either a 27 turn stock motor or a Trinity Speed Gems 19T tu...

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
I just pre-ordered a 2nd one....shhh don't tell my wife!
Here's an Ebay link for a full set of rubber sealed bearings for the RC10 for $23 shipped. I'm going to order 2 sets.

Pretty crappy if they can't include a bearing kit for $250!

A few of us at my local track are already talking about creating a "vintage off road class" similar to VTA touring car racing.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
Pre ordered mine! It's like Christmas 1987 all over again, except this RC10 will have bearings and an ESC (something I always dreamed mine would have).
Now, what brushless motor to put in? I have a Reedy 7.5T not in use, but I think that would be too much for the car.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
My wife just looks at me and smiles. I don't normally pre-order from Tower because they jack up the price, but I might for this one.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
Thunder Tiger has owned Associated since 2005. I would hazard a guess and say that anything AE hasn't been made in the US since 2005. If you're holding out for a US made RC10, it's not going to happen. The average buyer wouldn't want to shell out the coin to buy a US made car anyway.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
I won't buy one unless it's just like the original, 6 gear trans and all. The whole point is to own a re--release of the kit that started it all. But I also have a re-re Grasshopper and Lunch Box.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
Adding more fuel to the fire, this guy is building a full size RC10 for Associated (probably for RCX).
