first you'll need a sensorless motor. most racing brushless motors are sensored, but the rtr stuff is not. the drivetrain can handle a pretty powerfull set up, but i wouldn't go to crazy. something in the 4000-5000kv range will be where you want to look. anything higher then that is kinda too fast ...

RC10T4.1 Brushless Upgrade Options
I have a stock brushless setup for my truck and am looking to upgrade the motor to something with a little more power. Without checking the spec sheet, it seems to me the current motor is 3300kv unit. How far can you safely raise the power before needing to upgrade to metal bits for the drivetrain? ...

Hi all, Just getting back into the hobby after many years of focusing on other stuff. My first real RC car was a 1980's vintage Yokomo. Recently I picked up an RC10T to go along with my kid's EXC truck. The RC is my first brushless car and I am getting used to the charging process for Lipo batteries...
