It's been a long time, but the inner and outer tubes are a press fit. They need to be pressed apart, sockets would likely be easiest. Iirc both pieces will look like flanged bushings with one fitting inside the other. Really? I tried that on one of my spurs and it wasn't happening for me.. They are...

Re: How to replace Ultima/Optima spur gears?

IF this is the same as on the other RRP's, They made two different systems.. One was a non replaceable gear and one that is replaceable.. The non replaceable ones had the gear molded to the smaller gear.. The other one had small screws to swap the spur gear.. It looks like the bottom one in your pic...

Re: Hondaman's Astute

@broodenburg: Thanks!! Yup.. The old tried and true Tamiya Yellow CVA shock.. The lengths are different from the Fox but same design.. They aren't really all the bad of a shock.. They are pretty robust and easy to maintain.. Not great for high performance racing IMHO, but for bashing or novice racer...

Re: Hondaman's Astute

OK well I got this all sorted out.. I wasn't the steering... it was the sway bar.. The ends were pushed too far in and limiting the travel and it wasn't rotating as I had it a bit too tight.. Also there were limiters inside the front shocks so I removed them and bingo...... full travel.. 8) I...

Re: Hondaman's Astute

Thanks guys.. I like the over engineered aspect of the astute.. comparing it to my jrx2 and rc10 it really shows the differences of buggies of the era (88-93.. kinda..).. either way it is a great looking buggy.. the body is so much more detailed than the jrx2 and rc10 and looks fast.. one of the thi...
