Re: Some Servo questions
Just my $0.02, but in lightweight buggies, I like the high speed shorty servos. The Savox SC1251 is excellent, but if your budget doesn't quite allow for $65, I've also been very happy with the HD series that Atomik RC slings on their eBay store. I grabbed one of the 1207TG models, very fast on 6V (...

Re: Battery problem
Yes what sixtysixdeuce makes a lot of since, so sounds like May need new esc? No, not if it's fine with a 6 cell NiMH. What make & model is the 7 cell pack you bought? Not that an upgrade would be a bad thing; I'm no fan of the stock AE ESCs. Take a look at Hobbywing stuff, such as the Xerun 90...

Re: Battery problem
Most likely has a lower discharge rating. Think of it like water; voltage is pressure, amps is volume. Watts are total power, a product of volts*amps, just as total volume of a liquid would be the product of pressure*volume. Your battery is both the reservoir and pump, the ESC is essentially a valve...

Re: RC10T2 Hoarding
but they were the most popular kit tire for for GT's in that era For good reason. IMO, they were the best "all terrain" tire available until the Caliber came out. Still a good option, though I find the Calibers preferable in almost all situations from hard packed clay to sand. Only place ...

Re: RC10T2 Hoarding
looks like you use it I do. Only one shelfer in my collection, the rest all get beat on regularly :) Are T2's just not popular? Juding by the prices they fetch, I'd say popular enough. Hard to come by a decent roller under $100. They seem to go the highest of the STs from original 10T through T4. I...

Re: RC10T2 Hoarding
Building quite a nice collection there! I only have one T2, but would certainly grab more if the price was right! http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_1049_zps730ccd8b.jpg T3 and on simply do not interest me. I don't like a plastic chassis on anything larger than 1:16 scale. May...

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....
So jealous that you guys have easy access to old / vintage vehicles that you can actually drive on a daily basis. Around here, any old cars you see are garage queens so the sightings are few and far between. Isn't it fairly easy to import vehicles from the states? Where I live, you can't throw a ro...

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....
That Aspen looks similar to one posted on the Dodge Charger forum. Link? If someone is pirating my photos and claiming ownership, I'd like to be aware of it. Happened to me once before (that I know of) with the '66 Dodge D100 I had. Later, that fellow actually tried to claim it was his truck! Unfor...

Re: Don Garlit's 1:1 scale electric dragster...
Something is lost. I would stop going to the drags if I no longer got to experience the noise and flames of top alcohol and nitro dragsters.

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....
how is it that you are driving a 77 Fairlane as a daily driver? I'm guessing because Australia doesn't get any kind of winters so there is no real corrosion to speak of? Wow, I can only imagine how cool it would be to drive an old car every day like that one. Winters don't cause corrosion; hunmidit...

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....
I'm a bit miffed as the engine still feels strong but under load sometimes runs like a hit-n-miss engine, like the spark is dropping out. A mechanic says the engine is toast but I have a hard time believing that. A tired engine will run worse at low RPM under light/no load, when piston velocity/cyl...

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....
One more thing, check your valve lash to make sure it's within its operating limits. If it's too loose or too tight it will run very rough and be hard to start when cold. That's assuming the carb is tuned correctly, you're getting spark, and the timing is correct. It's something that's easy to over...

Re: I think I'm finally done.........
You should replace the few remaining original parts and put your original CE back together. I might, but many of the parts were upgraded on account of breakage. It's not like I have a whole CE in a box minus the few parts still on this one. I'd need arms, arm mounts, turnbuckles, shock towers.........

Re: Vale's RC10T
One question concerning the turnbuckles: how could I clean them? They are rusty.... Wire wheel, some fine sand paper (1,200-1,500 grit), then Birchwood-Casey cold blue. I have redone many steel turnbuckles this way, they come out looking virtually new. Be sure to sand them, though; the wire wheelin...
