Re: Hobbywing V2.1 90A blue esc
it helps not to destroy your tranny/motor/esc, with the delay it will help to settle the direction of the gears (forward) once its in a full stop then you can reverse. I can appreciate that you're trying to think this through and come up with logical explanation for said feature, but unfortunately ...

I think I'm finally done.........
My original 1994 RC10CE was resurrected last March, and has been ripped up and redone a couple of times since, but I think I have the final configuration now. Of course, the only original pieces left are the rear buklhead, transmission top shaft and the slipper assembly. The following I built myself...

Re: Hobbywing V2.1 90A blue esc
I run a 90A 2.1 with a Xerun 13.5 in my composite craft buggy, very smooth and highly tunable arrangement. Also have the 120A with an LRP 8.5T in my XXX4. I am totally sold on Hobbywing ESCs, have been slowly switching everything over to them as other brands burn up. They are the only ones that have...

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....
get some electronic ignition in that car, that will go a LONG way to reliability. This. While a great many things have been cheapened and not made to last on newer vehicles, the powertrain electronics are scores better than what was available 30+ years ago. That technology has trickled into the aft...

Re: Universal Battery Box?
I'd rather spend the 15 bucks on a new battery hold down system that can accommodate a larger variety of batteries than the 60 or so for new batteries just for a specific car. Makes sense, I've just never looked at it that way, since I have to keep packs on hand for 1/24, 1/16, 1/14, 1/10 and 1/8 s...

Re: rc10 mid
Theoretically, more gears = more friction = more weight. But in todays buggy, this is negligible and unnoticed. More importantly, any tiny fraction of a watt you'd pick up with one less gear would be totally inconsequential if you can't get the power to the ground. That's the reason for running a 4...

Re: Universal Battery Box?
Why not just use a smaller pack? 5,000 mAh is kinda the defacto standard for 1/10 scale, but 2S packs range from 120 mAh packs barely bigger than a postage stamp to monstrous 13,000 mAh batteries. They also come in a variety of dimensional configurations. Maybe just be looking at some of the 3,000-4...

Re: rc10 mid
Just curious, but if going mid motor, why not just use the RC10GT transmission? Better ratio, still fully supported, cheap, upgradeable with RRP or Thorpe metal gears.........

Re: Help with Servo purchase please
My $0.02........ I have played with A LOT of servos, all over the price spectrum, and ranging extremes in speed and power. At this time, my preferences for 1/10 2WD steering servos are the Savox 1251 and the HD8305TG from Atomik. The Savox is smaller (short) and lighter, but also more expensive at ~...

Re: How fast is a stock RTR Losi mini 8ight?
It was pretty interesting - I figured the Losi would be faster off the line because of the all wheel drive but the RC10 was still faster. Well, if you're running on a surface where the RWD buggy can get traction, that 4 pole 540 motor in a 4 pound car provides a higher power-to-weight ratio than th...

Re: How fast is a stock RTR Losi mini 8ight?
A stock mini 8ight is pretty quick, but unless your buggy is geared really steep, it won't have a higher top speed. They're somewhat heavy for their size at about 2-1/2 pounds with battery, and the stock power system is an 18A ESC and a 4500KV 2 pole 280 series 24x35mm motor. Modified, however, is a...

Re: Please critique me gentlemen.
Explaining how the changes affect the vehicle's handling is useful to the driver, but does not seem to meet your class requirement. If you do not understand geometry and physics, you should probably choose a more elementary subject; knowing how one thing affects another is wholly different than know...

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion
Well, time finally came to replace the body on the etruggy. Went with the Proline D8T Bulldog. Pretty good fit, stuck with the same color scheme. I like it. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_1024_zpsed74ce2b.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_1026_z...

Re: Racing RC's
Many local tracks are starting vintage classes with the re-release of the RC10 classic, worlds and others from Tamiya, Kyosho, etc. Just need to check around. Ours is doing a stock class, but 17.5 brushless in blinky mode is OK If you're resistant to run Short Course you may re-think it. It can be a...
