Re: LOSI XXX-S HANDMADE CHASSIS

it sucks having to run an Associated TC5,I'd much rather be running a TLR product. Blasphemy! I'll always choose AE over TL. The only time I go TL is: -AE doesn't make an equivalent product (my Mini 8ight and 1/24 micro truggy) -The price is too good to pass up (my MGB and XXX-4) Having sai...

Re: solution for locking 8-32 nuts

I find this thread rather interesting, as I've had no such issue with any of my buggies or trucks, nitro or electric, "moderately" powered or off-the hook (think RC10GT with OFNA .32 and e-converted GT with 2100KV 42x74mm motor on 4S). Perhaps you're simply not torquing them enough to begi...

Re: Rude behavior on the track-solution?

^^^^^^^^^ That would be fun, though I have a feeling I'd be quickly banned by general consensus of the other drivers. Can't say I'd blame them. A couple weeks back, we did a little heads up race when there weren't too many other drivers out there. No righting the cars; winner was to be the last guy ...

Re: Rude behavior on the track-solution?

You can borrow my Savage XL Custom. Pushes 20+ pounds, but it's very quick and nimble... Except the indoor track doesn't allow 1/8 scale. Otherwise, I'd just throw my bomb proofed e801Xt out there and go bowling :) My 1/8 buggy-based SCT is more than capable of knocking around anything else on that...

Re: Rude behavior on the track-solution?

If your machining your own parts, go for it. I do. I'll have a friend of mine water jet the chassis to save on my cutters, but otherwise it'll all be done on a small vertical mill with a 2 axis vise (tilt/swivel). HI!... You were too nice. I would of walked up to them and told them to smarten up. T...

Rude behavior on the track-solution?

I'm sure we've all experienced it, but every once in awhile, it goes to an extreme. Such was the case today, when two yahoos showed up, intoxicated, and just had a blatant disregard for both the clock and every other driver. They would completely ignore the time limits meant to allow everyone to run...

Re: A little experiment with the B3

I was looking for one for my Mini-8. That Velineon 28x45mm 380 can in the mini 8ight is a beast compared to the stock Excelorin 24x35mm. The mini 8ight is a tad on the heavy side as mini buggies go, definitely benefited from the extra torque. Sensorless, but plenty smooth with a decent 1/10 ESC, an...

A little experiment with the B3

Quite literally a little experiment. I just picked up a Losi Mini 8ight, yanked the stock Excelorin 4500 kv system without even trying it and shoehorned a Velineon 28x45mm 380 can and Dynamite 70A 1/10 ESC in it. To put it mildly, that little 1/14 buggy is an animal now. lol. Anyway, don't have anot...

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion

Dang looks thick! Its a tight fit for the grub screw on the gear Yeah, it's 3/8". I don't want to need to replace it. Ever. Instead, we just saw the top two screws shear off on that Turnigy motor. lol. I pulled it apart, clocked the front plate and drilled/tapped it to 3mm, but that motor is j...

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion

Did you make your own electric conversion kit? Yeah, did it kinda different, too. Motor mount uses the stock nitro mount points, and is a pretty hefty piece that supports the motor on 3 sides and uses 4 screws. Battery tray I milled from polyethylene, it holds a 4S pack vertically. I just lobbed of...

Re: Anyone have one of those friends?

Foolish. I dated a lot of girls I was crazy about at 2, 3 weeks. At 2-3 months, I was done. My lady now is the same girl I had dated in high school, 16 years ago. We hooked up again in 2010; been together for 3-1/2 years now, but neither of us is in a hurry to tie the knot. Course, we got rugrats, s...

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion

So why aren't you selling this stuff? I don't have CNC capability, so virtually no capacity for production. These parts are done one at a time on a little bench top mill, and each one is ever so slightly different from the next. Those arms take 4-5 hours each . About 2-1/2 hours on each hub carrier...

Got my rear carriers milled today http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_20140403_184413_754_zps03a1d310.jpg Damn drill bits kept walking on me, so the camber link mounting holes are all off by a few thousandths, but oh well. At least there'll be no more of this: http://i110.photo...

Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion

That being said, I never was a fan of aluminum arms... they seem to cause more problems when the issue is usually driver error. No offence In general, I agree with you. But it is a necessary upgrade on these trucks. If I had the ability to deal in high strength glass reinforced nylon, I would do th...

Re: help me out please guys 1980s rc 10

if I have a more powerful motor, will my ESC over heat? Certainly can. Remember, too, that what we're talking about above is all brushless stuff; your current set up is brushed. Some brushless ESCs can drive brushed motors, but a brushed ESC and a brushless motor does not work. As for power levels,...
