Hopefully this next batch of parts incoming will have some mid gear covers. If not, Ill order up some of those tbg parts. They have a nice selection of repro lexan.

Re: Identifying Duratrax vs Kyosho Gold Shocks

Those striations being machine marks. Looks like the duratrax shocks are turned with a faster feed rate, creating a rougher surface finish. All kinds of little differences popping up.

Re: Gear covers ?

I guess the real concern is that the opt mid gear covers on ebay all look like lazer gear covers. Is there a specific feature difference so I can identify one from the other?

Gear covers ?

So, Im trimming my new marwan opt mid lwb body set, and go to fit a gear cover. Uhoh, none of the 5 on hand will fit. They are all apparently for lazer. Question, what cover do I need? Its a lwb optima mid with lazer zx shock towers. The motor plate does not hit the shock tower, so there shouldnt be...

Re: Identifying Duratrax vs Kyosho Gold Shocks

Well, they are oily and dirty, so have leaked some. However, they seem as dirty as the rest of the car, and judging by the layers of fuz and dust, id say they have sat at least a few years, and are still smooth. Pretty sure back in the day I took apart some duraleaks and replaced a plastic spacer wi...

Re: Identifying Duratrax vs Kyosho Gold Shocks

Just to throw a wrench into things... I just got a set of duratrax golds in short length from a pile of rampage. They are silky smooth! Very nice looking and functioning shocks. Dont know what they will go on, but Im pleasantly surprised.

Re: Recomendations for tires that fit 2.0 rims

Now for the progress tires,,, anybody know if vintage tamiya brat f150 tires will fit on progress gallop rims? You folks ever really run a progress hard? They are rip snortin fun and well worth the effort to keep a runner on hand.

Re: Recomendations for tires that fit 2.0 rims

I think thats the one! A set of those to replace the kyosho rally tires. Thanks for all the tips! Knowing what to look for now, Im finding all sorts of hotshot, yokomo and cat tires on ebay . Going to order up some of those imex sedan hawgs and put those on celica gt4. It needs chunky tires anyway. ...

Re: Recomendations for tires that fit 2.0 rims

Thinking that my needs and tastes are running more in the direction of street and multi use treads. I just cant run these things off road. No track near here any more, so round these parts, off road means rocks, mud, stumps, curbs. We have a couple purpose built bashers just for that stuff. For 2.2 ...

Re: Ultima project started: with no particular direction in

I really dig the white natural finish on your parts. They work very well with the black chassis. After going through my pile rampage, I think its better as a rampage runner, and will save the 2wd build for another day.

Re: Ultima project started: with no particular direction in

Very nice looking. Ive been wondering if any ultima based upper plate will work with minor mods with any ultima based bottom plate? So, say a 1st gen ultima top plate with pro ultima bottom plate? I just got a big heap of rampage, or outrage, or something, and hoping to turn them into an ultima of s...

Re: Recomendations for tires that fit 2.0 rims

Just got finished going through my tires and wheels. Full set of 4 rear width white optima mid rally rims 2.0, with kyosho rally tires on them. Full set of front and rear yellow mid rims. Mini lst tires fit the wide rear rims nicely, but nothing seems to fit the narrow fronts. A pair of proline 2.0 ...

Re: front gear boxes

Im finding it easier and cheaper to build mids. A few years ago, I bought up a bunch of lazer zx, zxr, alfa, all for cheap in busted up lots. Years before that,, it was optimas that were cheap and easy. Looks like right now the zx5 is on its way down price wise. Going to keep searching for that laze...

Recomendations for tires that fit 2.0 rims

Im looking for tires that fit 2.0 rims. Most everything on ebay that comes up in a search of 2.0 tires is a proline 2.0 which does not refer to size, but rather a version type and most are 1/8 scale. Anybody have parts numbers for different brands to search for? Spikes, pins, slicks, street especial...
