Re: VAE's Ten4
I meant the physical wheel is wider for the wider 4wd front tires. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Re: VAE's Ten4
I didn't think B5m front wheels were wide enough. I thought 2wd and 4wd were two totally different widths.

Re: Ten4: the 4WD RC10 project
I know a few of us are planning custom builds with composite chassis and different wheelbase options than what Brian and Jeff originally designed the kit for. After ordering the wrong belt, I found this online calculator that should help guys out in determining a belt length. http://www.bbman.com/ca...

Re: Pumpkinfish's Ten4
I'm surprised how good the mount looks in person. The 3d rendering definitely makes it look goofy

Re: Pumpkinfish's Ten4
Shapeways finally delivered my left steering block and belt tensioner. I think this is going to work out real well. I have a few other designs printing now to see what works best. Now that I have the driveline all together, I measured 564mm for the belt. Jeff had said he measured the short chassis c...

Re: Buggy re-designers.
yellowdatsun, While I may agree with you and your assessments, ask yourself this...when is the last time you saw an X-Factory car at the track? They use very few associated parts in their "conversions" and yet they are rare at tracks. If you look at mass produced cars, how many Yokomo's do...

Shock Body and Shaft lengths
So I have this assortment of shock bodies and shafts that I have forgotten what they came off of. Is there any charts that floating around that have measurements and their equivalents i.e. a shock body 1.5" long = 1.32 AE Shock? Same for the shafts.

Re: Pumpkinfish's Ten4
Ok, I think have something better than the shock tower tensioner mount. I designed this one to go off of the steering nut. I mounted the tensioner on my rere and took measurements in relation to the steering nut. Should be very close to same location and more stable with no flex. I'm going to order ...

Interesting towers. Will that rear tower have enough support?

Re: Pumpkinfish's Ten4
Jeff,
I bought a set of them and thought of them initially. Where would you mount them? I went with the rear input steering bell cranks and would have to mount them a lot further back.

Re: Pumpkinfish's Ten4
Good eye, I have mine at 0.4mm.
I was thinking, would I be wrong if I was to extend the steering nut up and make that the front tensioner? Seems like it could be a more universal fix (and less "flexy") than my shock tower mount point.
