Yeah, I never had any hate for Traxxas, just a disinterest in RTRs in general. Early on back when they seemed like wannabe-RC10s maybe, but they must be doing something right to have the stranglehold on the hobby that they enjoy nowadays. Good on them.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the need for a longer front axle to fit the hex, but now that I see pics I get why.

The biggest drawback to the bandit is the truck length chassis IMO. If you get wanting to make it more of a racer let me know- this is our TRX-b conversion. I'm beginning to see the draw of those cheap 1:12/14/16-scale Chinese-made RTRs that are out there now if you just want something to bash with. They actually have parts support, even 'aftermarket' parts support. But even if they didn't, an entire running system costs as much as a Grasshopper kit so ...
