Re: First time on a track

Here's a pic I found on the web, I think this is the current layout. The owner says they change it every few months or so.

First time on a track

After being into rc cars off and on my whole life, I finally drove on a off road track for the first time last night (I used to drive my ntc3 on an on road track occasionally about 10 years ago in Houston)! I went to The Yard here in Orange, about a mile from my house. Its an outdoor clay track that...

Re: Great for kids! Revell "Beastie Bug"

Yeah, even my b4 struggles on the lawn, but mostly because it cant get traction. The other thing I was considering for him is a 1/24 losi trail trekker, which I think would be slow enough for him and able to power over the lawn.
Thanks for your advice.

Re: Great for kids! Revell "Beastie Bug"

Thanks for the review, sounds like a fun little car for a kid, especially for the $. I'm going to be in the market pretty soon I think for my 3.5 year old son, I'll keep these in mind. I was thinking about dgtting him a Losi Micro Desert truck, but I'm affraid it would only run well inside and could...

Re: saved from the closet: late 80's RC10 with vintage hop-u

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll try Easy-Off as a last ditch effort. I need some to strip the annodizing off my shocks anyway... If that doesn't do it, I'll just run the arms I bought with the long pins. Jeff, when did those arms come out? Edit, nevermind Jeff, found the info on the RC10 History thread, loo...

Re: saved from the closet: late 80's RC10 with vintage hop-u

Alright gurus, I need some advice. I have replaced most of the plastic components with vintage parts from ebay, because the 25 year old paint is being very stuborn and I dont have the rest of my life to scrape paint. ( I soaked the parts for days and days in brake fluid and it softened the paint up,...

Re: saved from the closet: late 80's RC10 with vintage hop-u

Do you still have to manually scrape the paint off after soaking in brake fluid? I soaked a bunch of plastic parts for about a week and I still had to scrape off the paint manually. The brake fluid softened it up, but that's about it. It's synthetic brake fluid though, I wonder if that makes a diffe...

Re: saved from the closet: late 80's RC10 with vintage hop-u

Very sweet rc10. I have never even seen half the parts that are on that thing lol. Glad the b4 is working good for you. If you ever need anything else just let me know. I might also have that axle you need at work. Or even be able to order it for you. Heck i might even have it in my personal parts ...
