Re: Help Me Rebuild My Original RC10

I updated my steering to bellcranks as I mentioned I was doing so here's a pic of that -- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Godspeed1.8T/DSC_6386_zps6cd6eabb.jpg And I finally got around to finishing the trimming and then masking and painting the body. Took me forever to cut all of the individua...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

Since we're sharing problem transmission and service support stories (and I've littered a few threads with the same story), I'll mention that Bob Stormer appears to be taking care of my displeasure with the parts I received from them (parts pulled from a Worlds kit when I ordered #6560). He's a bit ...

Re: Slotcarrod's RC10 ReRe's

In regards to gear cover gaskets; http://www.rccaraction.com/blog/2014/06/27/pit-tip-grit-grinding-your-gears-make-a-gasket/ This looks like a good start. Nice. And I actually don't think it would be too hard to find something like that with an adhesive backing at Home Depot, Lowes, etc....maybe a ...

Re: Slotcarrod's RC10 ReRe's

I kind of don't like how the RPM covers don't have a lip that wraps over the motor plate. They butt up against it so it's impossible to get them 100% sealed since there's bound to be a variance in how flat the motor plate is and how flat the cover is. It would be amazing if there was a thin bead of ...

Can a B4 top shaft be purchased on its own? What's the part number?

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

I've seen them on eBay for over 100 bucks now which is crazy, so alternatively (it'll cost more but you'll get more) you could buy a Worlds car and then a US Stealth case #6565, an idler gear/shaft #6570 and hope for the best on your top shaft.

If it's bunk, contact AE and request a replacement.

Re: Shearing Bell Crank Screws

The manual calls for Loctite on them so that should resolve any backing out, bad as far as snapping them, I don't know.

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

Hey Nick it's obviously not your "fault" I chose to purchase from Stormer. The really unfortunate thing is the one I was looking at on Amazon for only a few bucks more is now gone. Live and learn. I couldn't get a hold of Bob Stormer by phone yesterday, he was like Polkaroo, but he did rep...

And a top shaft? What's the P/N I'd want?

So far he's been like Polkaroo. "You just missed him. Try back in another 30min to 1hr." haha

Re: RE RE STEALTH TRANS

Well, I'm a little bit annoyed about it because I thought what I was ordering was a #6560 kit, not a bag-o-parts. And you're right, it doesn't have the brace, so what am I going to do there? Waiting for Bob to get back into the office. Hopefully it can be sorted out....with a proper #6560 kit, but m...

Re: RE RE STEALTH TRANS

So I got a 'bad' style case and a bad top shaft....and bad idler?

I spoke to a guy about 30 minutes ago and he said to call back in an hour to talk with Bob Stormer. Just want to get my info straight before I call.

Thanks guys.

Re: RE RE STEALTH TRANS

Glad you're on this, scr8p and gomachv. Appreciate your attention. Here's what I got. I'm hesitant to completely open the bags in case I need to send this stuff back. The bag with most of the stuff (the bearings and gears, etc.) look like it might be unmolested Associated packaging. Stormer may have...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

I just received a #6560 kit from Stormer and it has a Chinese case in it.

I don't think I'm too happy about that. What's your opinions?

Re: RE RE STEALTH TRANS

Where's that picture comparing the USA vs. Re-Re (China) Stealth cases? I just searched through dozens of pages in various posts and had no luck with the search either. I'm hoping that I didn't get a piecemeal kit and ended up with a Chinese case. Edit -- I think this is what has happened. I can't f...
