Re: Anyone good with car audio?
How much spl does a tweeter put out at 130 decibles?how much spl does a 12 put out at 130 decibles?. If you look at the build i linked. The highs pictured are 2 4inch coax and 2 8inch coaxial getting the same power and as a matter of fact on the same channel. Size of speaker cone only really dictate...

Re: Anyone good with car audio?
Ya it nearly drove me insane building it and finishing by deadline. It took about 150 hours spanning a three and half week period many days only getting 3hr naps before work and the final stint that lasted over 48hrs and I slept on the road to West Virgina University from Florida while my wife drove...

Re: Anyone good with car audio?
I think you would be better off getting a pioneer headunit with 4 preouts and internal crossover filters, this is better because you can either use them for full range fading or mid/high and sub split. your signal will be cleaner as well because the signal will be split before the preamp and essenti...

Re: Race Rustler build
I drilled tiny holes perpendicular to the hingepin so that i could insert my syringe oiler and lube from inside out and flush them out. So far it works great, i just lube up each pack and have no slop develop yet. Did this on bulkheads as well. I just use 3in1 generously and wipe away excess.

Got some updates to my rustler. I went full bullet-proof mod. Started with my vintage bandit roller, and dressed it up with proline 66 ford f100 stampede body, proline pro-trac arms, strc c-hubs, strc hinge-pins, strc knuckles, rpm front shock tower, mip x-duty drive-shafts, kyosho rb5 front wheel s...

Re: kyosho optima cvd's?
Welcome! The wheel hexes can slip by all means but if seated properly and mating surfaces are in good shape the friction fit can be quite impressive. one mistake peeps often make with them is trying to seat them using the wheel. If you want a real good seat use a metal spacer and wheel nut to tighte...

Re: kyosho slingshot build
Thought I would update this thread as I have recently finished restoring a lumina version of the slingshot. Below are pics of the resto, just waiting for a body and electronics. http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o744/kyoshojoe1/DSCN9861_zpsl5jaapty.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o744/kyos...

Re: Kyosho Optima Build
I was wondering about that. Mini z bodies are abs plastic so the paint may not work too well on lexan. just a thought.I will try my best. I painted a sample of the lexan. This looks to be more challenging than I thought with this paint as it doesn't adhere well with a brush. More to come.

harbor freight sells scotch brite wheels for your drill. I use these on aluminum to give it the satin brushed polish similar to kyosho factory look.

Re: Ultima Diff Slipping - What Is Wrong
go to competitionx.com and download the manual to start. the ultima series used a plastic final pinion with a pin and hole set up. you have an optima style metal final pinion that would normally mate up to a top shaft that had notch in the shaft. you can either get the correct final pinion or file a...

Re: Did The DOT 3 Thing, Now I Have A Question ?
Be careful as the brake fluid can make the lexan brittle if soaked for long periods and it may not be overly evident at first, check for little micro cracks around seams and edges. If its a shelfer you probably will be fine but as a runner the body may snap and crack. The hazing may be a result of t...
