Re: Taking a Motor apart?

If you actually went and raced it after rebuilding it is anyone gonna care? Not like it's going to keep up with a 17.5t  I rebuilt an old Twister stock motor and it was nowhere near as fast as a CO27 brushed motor.. I remember there was a special stock motor lathe where you could take off a bru...

Nice work, just like back in the day when your front shock tower had to be as high or higher than the rear

Re: 870c project

Yeah Jason I machined the pulleys, I still have to make the side things to hold the belt on. NRG nah wasn't thinking of doing it that way. I was thinking of making just a rear tensioner with a solid turnbuckle going from the top deck to the bulkhead cap, but i've decided to just leave it as it is wi...

Re: 870c project

Got the drivetrain almost finished, have to pin the pulleys to the layshaft, mill some flats for the B4 outer slipper plate, and make some sides for the exposed side of each pulley.. There was only just enough room to fit the 6mm belt pulleys in the rear, front was easy. Also I bought a Corona 2.4GH...

Re: Club 10 Cougar

Yeah did you find out if the 2.2 inch rims are still available new?
I've got another Cougar I might put a Topcat body on, wanna keep this one as close to how I used to race it as possible.

Club 10 Cougar

Time to rebuild this thing. Haven't used it in atleast 12 years. Going to be running it in mod class at the next vintage meet at Castle Hill (Sydney) in a couple of months.. I got this one brand new in 1993, it's my first ever race car. It's the first version of the Club 10 which is the same as an o...

Re: Schumacher truck?

Very nice! I wonder what the deal was with having different coloured wheels on each side? Also, despite using stick packs exclusively, it seems to be setup for having the batteries offset to the left. Strange... Just making a fashion statement :o Dunno why they'd mount the battery off to the side, ...

Re: Custom Protech style B44 body

Thanks, next I might make a Protech 1 or 2 style body for the B4 with a scoop big enough to fit a Mamba Max Pro. I don't think there's any B4 body right now that will fit that speedo!

Re: Why Mr Lex Should Not Build RC10's

I've done the rear arm thing, and actually raced the thing like that for a whole race day before noticing

Do the skinny fronts work with new J82 rubber?
I saw someone use them back in the day for 1 race just said it gave too much understeer, only time i've ever seen them used..

Custom Protech style B44 body

Knocked up a mould from scratch, just to see if I could, and i'm not a huge fan of the current body styling used by Associated or Jconcepts. I also wanted some big scoops because my motor (LRP X11 7.5) and speedo (Mamba Max) were getting up to around 82 deg C (180 deg F) running in summer with the s...

Re: New Schumacher Cougar 2wd buggy!!!!

As for the "budget" dollar "pro" cars - yep - they are indeed cheap - however they wear out VERY quickly, I cant beleive how quickly my B44 developed slop in the suspension! So what you save on purchase price - over time - you pay in parts keeping it sweet! I break all the suspe...

Re: Battery choice !?!

The voltage is determined by the chemistry of the cell, they can't change it, if they did it wouldn't be a LiFe cell anymore.
