Re: (early) Late graphite team car
As far as I can tell this is a new built car which has never been finished all the extra parts are there, and only the wing is missing. Interestingly the arm mounts and hub carriers are flip flopped by mistake. Also there are no servo mount hole in this chassis, and the older CE rear bulkhead instea...

Re: 1993 IFMAR Worlds: Masami's tire mods?
Nothing special about cutting and glueing tires for the Worlds. This was done at a lot of races especially by factory drivers. Usually for converting rear tires to front tires. But there was not only about making narrower tires, I also have seen cutting tires for making smaller diameter. Don´t thin...

Re: Steering block 6221/6225 alternatives?
I think the Losi JRX2 blocks are a direct fit, but you will need scr8p to confirm.
edit:
They are easier to find in black part # 6221
There are some on ebay.

Re: Bottom load - top load shock cap compatibility
All associated small bore caps are interchangeable, nylon cap gaskets are not that good, generally o rings are better. Bottom load shocks are no better or worse than the later top loaders, just harder to work on unless you have the proper circlip pliers.

Re: My RC10 (runner)
Your post reminds me that while it can interesting to modify the old RC10, it's not necessary in order to have fun driving it; the car works very well without a need for correction. I'd reckon that Roger and the guys at AE have spent a tremendous amount of R&D time to make the car work. The fac...

Re: WOIN RC10 "new" build...
While I was installing the steering bell cranks I found the shims for the bottom of the bell crank bushing nuts to be a little bit out of wack. One shim being thicker than the other. I fixed this with some T.O.P. Racing 1mm thick aluminum shims for pan car rear axles. These parts are a bit hard to ...

Re: Any M3 modern Ballstuds compatible w. Original/rere Ballcups?
Yup Schumacher ball studs work: U3496 short, U3497 long. M3 threads 5.5mm hex, 4.3mm balls like Associated
Also U3495 extra short, U3498 extra long.

Re: CAT SWB
Small update: Got a servo and mounted it up with a re-re topcat servo saver... And found this little gem NIB. I found it a lot easier purchasing it now than I did all those years ago. I had to save my pennies for a long time BITD for one of these as I was desperate for one due to the CAT's la...

Re: Edinger? Time for some love
My Dubro parts for the front stabiliser turned up, now I need some (more) advice, what size set/grub screws do I need for the links, I’ve used some black ones (same as front suspension pin “locks”) but being black they are too visible I’d believe, so I’m guessing they used longer silver ones origin...

Re: Period correct ESC
Thanks, nice cars too, that 1/12 with the Demon motor in the back is sweet  Thanks! :D That car has some history. I used to race at Club Heathrow in Hanworth. That car is Geoff Wilsons old car with all his original electrics (except the servo which is the correct (futaba s132h) but not origin...

Re: Period correct ESC
Yeah, same here and I stopped racing in late 88. I remember Laser speed controllers being used quite a bit but can't say Intronics rings a bell. Do you have any pictures of old Laser or Intronics speed controls? The Intronics speed controls where made by David Spashett’s father. They came in a tran...

Re: Period correct ESC
I don't ever remember seeing anyone here in the UK between 85 & 87 with a Novak, I'd only seen them in magazine adverts . I don't remember seeing a any US speed controls in the UK until at least 1988. From 1985 thru 1988 the only speed controls available where those locally manufactured: Demon,...
