Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
FWIW, I've owned 3 or 4 Mids and all of them were missing part OPM-9. You can see it here on page 13 of the manual. OPM-9.JPG I've never actually seen one but I think it's rubber. It's meant to seal the underside of the belt cover where the belt exits the rear gearbox - directly above the motor. Th...

Flying Point Ena 3D
Found this Ena 3D on eBay with a story that assembly had been started and never finished. I figured there had to be a reason but took the chance anyway. It arrived yesterday and I couldn’t help finishing it- everything was there  It’s not the cleanest design, and it’s surely not the strongest...

Lots and lots of elbow-grease and sore wrists and hands...either with fine grit wet-sanding or a polishing bit & compound with a Dremel, I'm guessing.
Nice work there.

Re: Very young youngtimer ;) Hot Bodies D413
For polishing metal, I've mounted an 8" buffing wheel in a bench grinder. It can make aluminum appear nearly as reflective as chrome. Here's an aluminum push bar that I've made for the Bronco. The intent was to make the bar shine like the chromed bumper and grille and I think it comes very clos...

Re: Very young youngtimer ;) Hot Bodies D413
Very nice work! What did you use to remove the anodizing? Easy Off oven cleaner. Let it soak for a few minutes, brush off with toothbrush and rinse with water. Wear gloves because the oven cleaner will irritate your skin. Sometimes you'll see a dark grey smut appear, I think it depends on the quali...
