Re: PB Mini Mustang Refurb
I had to get a Mini Mustang body to fit over the 2 speed gearbox and i redesigned the gear cover as well to prevent dirt getting in , i was not too bothered about an open spur gear under the Maxima body but the 2 speed setup might suffer more if sand gets in . https://i.imgur.com/LGZTSQgl.jpg https:...

Re: My Ultima GP ST "Type-R/EVO" 20th anniversary project with 3D printed "CF" parts.
Looks like your really putting the printer to good use ! I love mine , they just open a whole new world of possibility :D . How is the CF PETG to use and how strong is it ? I've never used it , I've used a lot of CF Nylon and its a superb material and very easy to print with compared to regular Nylo...

Re: My Ultima GP ST "Type-R/EVO" 20th anniversary project with 3D printed "CF" parts.
Thanks for the reply on the CF PETG , I'll be very interested in how it stands up to sharp impacts as the regular PETG is kind of split personality , it flexes in low impact but shatters on high impact , I was just wondering if the CF holds it together better in high impact situations . The YouTube ...

Re: “Mad Dog Racer”
The helicoils should be fine, with the CF or a fibreglass chassis its so much more rigid that the top deck is really only serving as a chain/belt guide , unlike the stock Kydex chassis that really needed the extra stiffness , the flex in the Kydex chassis is probably why those threads fail anyway , ...

Re: “Mad Dog Racer”
The weakness in the front bulkhead is shearing off the lower suspension mount points , that's what I've seen on a genuine and 3d printed examples , I've been planning on a modern style brace for the bottom arm pivot pins on my cars , you have to replace the stock pins with something a little longer ...

Re: “Mad Dog Racer”
RE the broken rear arm , the plastic they are made of responds really well to CA , I broke a front knuckle and temporarily glued it and I swear it feels as strong as before ! I do have a design for reinforced rear arms as I had exactly that same brake , they look different in the conical section ,PM...

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!
In stock form the ESC is pretty poor on the brakes but if you switch to a 50t motor it slows it right down and the stock ESC does a reasonable job , the front and rear wheel track is a legacy problem from being a direct Tamiya copy , wheel spacers up front sort it out, there's a model on Thingiverse...
