Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
My daughter would freak if she saw that , even I'd be respectful , I mean it's like a venomous rat

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...
To print the tire support rings without support is pretty easy , just put a chamfer on the lower side as in the picture , as its 45 degrees its less than the 50 degrees overhang that most printers can cope with without support , holds the tire just as well . Bolink Digger 2.2 Rear Wheel v2 v2.jpg it...

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...
The next thing I want to try is electro plating 3d prints , looking at it on YouTube it seems to be relatively easy and would be perfect for these wheels .
I've never even tried the parametric stuff your doing , I think you learning Fusion much faster than me

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...
If the 5+ has the same control board as the 5 then I'd recommend going from an 8 bit to a 32 bit board , the Big Tree Tech 32 bit SKR boards are cheap , I've got one in my Ender 3 , if your looking at having to play with the firmware for a good direct drive extruder anyway then I'd ditch the old boa...

Re: A new project - Nichimo Spirit FF - The first of a kind
The trick is knowing when to put all the fillets in as it's a pain to change the design without backtracking ,looking good .

Re: A new project - Nichimo Spirit FF - The first of a kind
Your imagining the original designer was better than you or that the machinist that milled the molds could not make an error
take the evening off , open a good bottle of wine and let it all wash over you till tomorrow

Re: 2WD buggy from 2022 vs. 4WD buggy from 1992...who would win?
Another interesting comparison might be to put both cars on a dirt track rather than carpet , I think this would really be a leveller , probably tip it to the vintage 4wd's advantage .
A ton of evolution happened between 82 and 92 , after that it looks more like fine tuning for the most part.

Re: A new project - Nichimo Spirit FF - The first of a kind
I'd have had a test print of the chassis done by now , I have no patience at all  this was certainly not the easiest car to start with :!: When you print the gearbox use a filament that does not shrink , I tried ABS for the dogfighter gearbox and the gears would not mesh due to shrinkage but it...

Re: A new project - Nichimo Spirit FF - The first of a kind
That's excellent work , well done , been out all day and this was great to see when I got home :D no matter how well you think you measure there is always something and only 3 out of 11 holes needing sligh adjustment is really good ! Doing only a section of a print to test is such a time and plastic...
