Re: Difference between Kyosho Le Mans Stock 05 Tamiya 540 motors

Dadio wrote: Fri Jan 05, 2024 10:09 am I've only ever seen Mabuchi motors in Tamiya kits.
From memory the first Tamiya kits to come with Johnson motors were the Monster Beetle and Blackfoot. The reason was that the Johnsons produced more torque apparently.

Became a first time Dad

I became a new dad to a newborn son. Strange for me to say it after all these years. I was THAT guy thinking it wasn't necessary, that it would be okay unmarried and without kids. No looking back now lol! Typing this as I try to figure out the basics of holding, changing, burping, balancing work, be...

Re: What Speed Controllers Were Available Circa 1980?

In the late 1970’s Electro Craft had an ESC that gained popularity at the NORCAL 1/12 electric racing series in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I think Electro Craft was based nearby in San Jose. They had a fast sponsored driver named Steve Betts. As I recall they had some overheating and ...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

Maybe we'll continue to get rain and Australia will turn into a nice lush green country, and more than 20% of it would be habitable. I'd be happy with that.

Re: Became a first time Dad

Thank you all! I really appreciate the practical advice around infant fathering too...your stories and suggestions are so helpful! Lot of trial and error, dividing roles to make the process efficient. Taking a simple shower and eating a quiet meal suddenly became a small luxury haha. In Korea, the g...

Re: Question regarding parts integrity

FanRC parts are great stand ins for original parts, and half the price on those rear arm mounts. Just depends on what your build will be. For a shelf car id go original but for a runner, brand new parts for less money is the way to go. https://teamknkhardware.com/product-category/fan-rc/ in stock a...

Cheating a bit as it's a YouTube clip but it was today and by me . I've suspected we had a badger coming to our garden for over a year but never seen it , then last week my wife and daughter came home after dark and saw it scurrying off , that was enough for me to go on Amazon and find a cheap nigh...

RC10T 3D printed rear bulkhead

I just finished the design of a 3D printed rear bulkhead for my RC10T. I printed it using carbon fiber infused ABS. The original bulkhead weighted in at 25g, this printed part weighted in at 9g without the brass threaded inserts, 13 with the inserts. Everything seems to work fine, I suspect that it ...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2024 ** - Winner - coxbros1

We are all dealing with an AGI JAMMER (as in gear jammer) from late 80's. No ham and egger (including me) gonna hold up to that smoke! Lol Yeah, showing my ignorance there. I didn't get the significance of it. I was wondering why folks were excited about a pan car with a Stealth. :? I thought the t...
