Re: 870c ReRe?
Wow what a great build. Nothing too tight or too loose. Everything there, although at times I was thinking man an extra eclip or screw here and there wouldn't hurt haha. The spine is very weak, 1mm thick g10 and flexes like crazy. First thing on the drawing board will be an upper brace. They used yr...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
I had a similar problem lining up the Sand Rovers bottom gearbox section (very similar design) , took me a while to realise the error was because of draft angles to help release the chassis from the injection mould , it really depended on where i measured it . Yes I tried to take that into account....

Re: Tamiya Hilux Pickup Build
So, this little gem showed up today. Seems like just a little piece of bent zinc steel, but hard to come by, and super weird to find on its own. This is the rear hold down bracket for the "transistorized" ESC box. The boxes are few and far between, but for some reason, never have the mount...

Tesla chassis up-close
I came across a Tesla chassis display in Fukuoka, Japan. Very impressive. Like an electric RC car, fewer parts, one piece design, parts that cross over with other models, great center of gravity, solid construction, etc. I recall Elon drawing inspiration from an RC car/toy car for building full size...

Reassembling a Kimbrough servo saver
I have a Kimbrough servo saver that popped open when I was removing the screw from it after taking it off a servo. Getting the spring back inside the 2 halves of the servo saver body can be really frustrating. However, there are some small holes near the spring stop feature. Running a piece of waxed...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
I fixed the chassis yesterday. The profile is now in line with the real one. I still need to check the full length, but both rear part (gearbox) is now matching original parts, and my center part should be almost fine as well. And then some of my linked files went mad... Actually one mainly went bad...

Re: TRX-1 hodgepodge - Bandit, Rustler, Slash gearbox parts?
I came across a nice, one owner, mostly complete TRX-1 in a lovely shade of Kermit the Frog green. It came with a really nice motor plate too. However, some slight difference between the TRX-3 gearbox and a TRX-1 gearbox mean the TRX-1 motor plate only works with a TRX-1 gearbox. Well crap, now I ha...

Re: Tamiya Poly-Carbonate Metallic Paint - Backing colors
That's why I always do test strips with lexan scraps. That way, you can test different backing colors.
Maybe try putting different color pieces of paper behind the paint to get an idea.

That still can be done! Do some spray outs on scrap pieces with different backing colors until you achieve the result you're the happiest with for the final product.

Ruined GT paint - attempt to fix
I received this is body so very long ago when I bought some cars off Craigslist. I can’t remember how long I’ve had this body, at least 10 years. I was tired of looking at it in its state so I decided to paint it. Previous owner attempted to strip paint off and left it pink. So I masked the windows....

One of many flooded classrooms from frozen broken sprinkler pipes. Had 5 of our schools with fire alarms and waterflow due to frozen pipes within one hour.
