Survivor 1983 Porsche

My dad’s best friend he had for his whole life developed pancreatic cancer 4 years ago and offered me the car. It wasn’t running and was stored in his garage for six years. I flat bed towed it from his garage to mine. There it sat for another four. This last summer I cracked in. Found 2 gallons of f...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)

I made some test prints of the motor cover. I wanted to be sure it can be mounted on a car with the motor in... I printed the parts for exhaust and airboxes in white so we can clearly see a color separation for the tests... https://i.imgur.com/YbngEot.jpeg Then the motor cover and the rest of the re...

Sometimes it’s a lot of effort

Sometimes you get a mediocre result with a lot of cost and effort. IMG_3676.jpeg The bulk head brace is good. Some voids but ok, the battery cover… the pressure was too low and the moisture was too high. Also unfortunately the mold looks like it got some edge damage. Still decent results . At least ...

Re: Playtron Doberman

Made a mount for the ESC.
Also helps to secure the servo a little.

Re: Tyco Bandit build on a budget thread

The build us finished! I decided to ignore the esc issue as it was already soldered in and I didnt feel like redoing it with another esc. Screenshot_20240227-181253_Gallery.jpg Assembled and running on a 4.8v 2000mah nimh battery. Screenshot_20240227-181300_Gallery.jpg Took a few minutes to swap con...

Re: If I had a 3D printer…

Those are actually part of the "4 link" which uses live hinges at the bottom. System works really well. The part in the middle is a "dipper". You fill the well with syrup and it's a crude but very effective damper. Just try not to leave the car inverted for more than a few second...

Re: SRB Hop Up Pics & Info Thread

Years ago, I read about this diff on Tamiyaclub (Blasphemy! :D ). It's mentioned in the second post on page one by the member Tanker (2). https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9140-srb-balldiff/ I wondered about it for years and came to the conclusion that I'd probably never see one, or ...

Re: Tweaking The Mystery Machine

That also might be what I need when I get around to re-doing my Hyper Hornet front suspension. I hate dealing with the limited clearance in Hopper tubs. I just use the standard servo saver and glue it together, then use a cheap metal gear servo in it. But with your printing capabilities, you have a...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)

I did not advance much today... Just built a mould for the prototype bodyshell... https://i.imgur.com/jVDE8Xy.jpeg And out of curiosity, I tried to see if it is printable within the 256x256x256 mm of the Bambu Lab X1C https://i.imgur.com/7hVWazg.jpeg Yeah... Technically possible, but I guess this wi...
