Re: Built for the Shelf Versus built to Run
After reading through this thread, I'm apparently in the minority. All I seem to care about owning are shelf queens. My requirements are they have to be in overall excellent condition, and be complete. It's a bonus if they have electronics but it's not a requirement. It doesn't matter if they ...

Re: Parts lot rebuild
Got it painted. The color turned out a little different than I imagined. The metallic nature of the gunmetal caused the color to mostly have a gold to pewter look, with reddish accents at certain angles. I was kinda iffy at first but its really starting to grow on me. Re: Mugen Bulldog at last !
Really nice work there.
The Bulldog did very well in Australia. Team Pitstop modified and raced them after they stopped using their Taipans and before they changed to the Schumacher Cat.

Re: TAG Pro 10
All done apart from a pinion and body. Lots of period correct electronics in it now and all wired up for some heavy shelf action. The wing's a heavily chopped Schumacher Cat XLS re-release. The wing posts are cross drilled PCB standoffs. As a bonus the anodising matches the wheels. I'm very ha...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
I have heard millions of Cicadas, and seen hundreds of their "shells," but in 46 years, I have never seen this. Watched this little display as I was out weed-eating this evening. After going in an showering after the last pic, I went to go check on them, and they were gone.

Liking Jame's work on the tranny.

A Quick Bullet Resto
The pandemic has been taxing my patience and wallet for the past 16 months. I decided to build a collection of sets of cars from a few different manufactures-EX) RC10, RC10T, RC10L, TC3, etc. I've been focusing the most on vintage Traxxas as of late and picked up a pretty complete Bullet that needed...

Re: Early Nodis gearbox (Pre-Stealth)
Wow, just wandering through this site and reminding myself of things years ago and what a surprise. I hold my hand up to sribbling that short piece on the Nodis gearbox. The name "Geoff Driver" was chosen for me by the mag. editor Alan Harman. The truth is I have no recollection of writing...

Re: Mark 1 Ultima ( turbo?) cheap rebuld
Delta lockdown in New Zealand, time to play with my budget ultima rebuild. Decided to crack open the old MK1 ultima rebuild, having trouble getting parts in NZ so attempting to use up as many parts as possible. Hand cut carbon 3mm top deck, removed battery tabs as shorty will be running along the ch...

Re: Optima Mid Runner Budget Build to LWB conversion
The parts arrive a couple weeks ago and I've spent some time over the weekend getting them separated, inspected, cleaned and the holes tapped. Here are some photos taken during the trial fit. Re: Optima Mid Runner Budget Build to LWB conversion
Great achievement ! Generally with 3d printed parts holes tend to shrink a little , with home FDM printers I tend to increase the diameter by 0.2.- 0.3 mm so where I'd drill a 2.5mm for tapping an M3 thread with printing I'd make a 2.7mm hole for an M3 thread , if I'm making a hole for an m3 to fre...
