Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)

As I decided to delay the Samurai first build for a few days, I have some time to finish something... I decided to deal with the two Galaxy. I cut the wings, and drill the driver figures (they are repro in resin). https://i.imgur.com/CfbRk7n.jpg Next was to take care of the wings paintjob. Thanks to...

Re: Dreams and go to motors of your youth?

These were my go-to motors as I dreamed of my Egress being competitive in the 4WD classes.
But the tracks never stuck around so they ended up being preserved as unused shelf display motors instead :)

Re: Dreams and go to motors of your youth?

My offer was accepted so I'll post one of my favorites soon. Unfortunately I answered the age old question of "How much is it worth?" with "However much someone is willing to pay." No regrets!

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...

My son finally finished his Super Hotshot... (yes, the driver has closed eyes, as my son decided that since he's driving the car the driver figure will be afraid and keep eyes closed ) https://i.imgur.com/VlupaHe.jpg That means that my tools are available again :-). In other words, it's time to...

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...

Next is about the front gearbox... First, the differential. The red parts are again from OptimaHouse. The ball bearings fits perfectly. I had some difficulties to get the e-ring snapped in, but that's because of Marui's design. I used the sheet I used for the pinion mesh to get the e-ring lit up to ...

Re: AYK Radiant - Mid Conversion

I am about to start the strip and clean-up on this car.... but one thing i have noticed is that is also has the rather unusual front one-way wide rims as per the Maverick, prior to the later one-way hex hubs which followed on the Pro Radiant. I have checked with Steve Dunn and having seen an early A...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Speed Gems Pro Jet 11x2, picked this one up to compare to the Reedy Kr 10x2 & Reedy Ti 10x2 in the on-road T4. A couple spare parts motors from our friendly neighborhood Frankentruck. And servo wire, terminals and crimper for the tidiness. Resized_20220422_200832_3399.jpeg Resized_20220422_20085...

Re: NIB Bosscat Works

On to the chassis and front end next. Unfortunately I found my first problem …… can’t find the carbon centre track rod, I have a feeling I may have left it with a friend of mine that borrowed the carbon parts to create cutting files for them. Oh well guess I need to chase him up or order a new 1 fro...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower

This is my fourth ceramic armature motor..... the others being a 20Single, 11Single and a 13Triple. SRM Scorcher modified, which like MG used the Race Prep ceramic armatures for a short while in around 1990. This one was a bit of a steal, albeit well used condition, so i couldn't really say no. It w...

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...

Lunch was good, and parts were printed. It did not took much time to print, probably more time to heat the printer than to print, actually. I printed 8 spacers, just in case I need to put them on the front as well (as per the instruction manual, we are supposed to put on on each side of the arms). I...

My second favorite all-time behind Wimpy. Been looking for one for a while. Now I need an AGI Jammer 6 gear to put it in.

Re: Modified Duratrax shocks

Thanks RJ, the o-rings are spaced apart with a thick spacer in between. I think I'll make some pistons out of Acetal.

Re: NIB Bosscat Works

Chassis pretty much done, added a set of alloy posts and carbon battery straps and what sort of Schumacher build would it be without some purple bling on it! Just need to order more purple nuts for this build now.

Re: Dreams and go to motors of your youth?

I am very lucky that i still have all but a few of my original motors. I started out in around 1986 and back then in the UK anything with a Demon label was quick. My first non silver can motor was a Demon 27T standard, which was well used and i still have it, complete with motor cleaner-faded label....

Re: 1986 'Penn Models' Touchtronics VF8 (V-FET) ESC

This has now been sent off for testing and a tidy up by ESC guru Ian Mullaney over in the UK - it is working fine and has been treated to fresh heatshrink. The original wiring looks good so all it has had is a new Tamiya connector added and it is now ready to go back into the Penn Models-based MMS R...
