Trailing arm '2wd Concept Car' prototype
When an ex-CML driver tells you he has a stripped down one off trailing arm 2wd car in his loft.... I was buying some MG motors off a guy around 18months ago and when i met up with him for the exchange he told me that he was at one time a team CML (Central Models) driver, and that he had been given ...

Re: 1993 WCS ‘Faux-komo’ Repo 3d printed & Non-OEM Parts
Small update, heard back from Fibre Lyte (Stephen is awesome btw) and they made it super easy to order, pay via PayPal and expect something in about 3 weeks (any chassis order takes awhile to produce, I am waiting with baited breath). While I wait, another small order came in from Shapeway’s, a slig...

Re: $10 cost hornet challenge
Little more progress today, did away with the mini servo, wasn't happy it could handle the load, so i replaced it with a S148 for the time being, did unearth an old Futaba S9102, Alerion servo, same speed and torque, but low profile. May find its way in, also gave me the chance to use up the ugly bl...

Re: Barn find Rocky, belt drive conversion
Little bit more work today, cutting up a perfectly good glass top plate. Jigging around to fit the "super shorty" Lipos, sourced some mounting blocks from MST Short battery holder set 210451, Cut and shut it to suit the shorter pack, this also clears the chain/belt on the bottom of the cha...

Re: Dreams and go to motors of your youth?
Mine is a pre-Sagami one which Nick stamped with his own DEMON lettering. These are pretty rare and this is the best HT i have come across so far. I also have an unused MrT Special in this same format.

Re: Dreams and go to motors of your youth?
I have spent quite some time trying to collect up the various Demon motor (and ESC) iterations from that period. This was just as i was starting out in RC really. My MrT is a red base plate version. 193913063_10161085045331258_6298077758941436936_n.jpg Another unusual variation is a Yokomo style Sag...

Re: Trivia: What is the first reversible, mid-motor 1/10 scale off road 2wd RC buggy "race" kit?
It’s kinda open ended so I wasn’t sure what he was going for. I mean, you could easily flip the 6 gear trans but there was cutting and modifications to do also. The mrp was I believe marketed as flippable and should be ‘85-‘86 era Congratulations that was fast! GoMachV gets the trivia award for the...

Actually, I pretty much hate everything these days. I guess I'm just getting old... "get off my lawn!".

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
While waiting for a few pieces I sat down and re-envisioned the lethal weapon. Parts are getting low, and belts don’t like modern brushless power. The drawing is a b6.3 transmission stuffed inside a lethal weapon footprint, slipper adjustment hanging out the left side. The print shown is the dr10 ve...

Re: Marui Samurai 4WD - Another SilverTriple's journey...
I was back home on Wednesday evening. I tool the time to take care of the driver figure paint job, at least for the helmet... https://i.imgur.com/rmeuCE0.jpg On Thursday, I did a few five minutes job in between meetings to deal with the driver body(s) (I used a paint marker rather than a brush, it's...

Kyosho Circuit 20 Extra - Racing Baja (3045)
If we all step back and remember what it was exactly that made R/C so immediately fascinating, most of us would probably say it was a level of realism involved. Both Kyosho & Tamiya gave us the chance to feel what real racing was all about, but it’s much more affordable and a lot less dangerous....
