Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives

Dynotech makes proper (likely better than oem) replacements for $50/pr on eBay I saw that there was one last pair. What I saw was aluminum and I have concerns about the longevity for general bashing. I may have a shelf build lined up as 3rd in my queue where that should be ok, but steel is my first...

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives

They are hardened steel unless he offers two versions. There will be more listed I’m sure, as it’s a business.

Re: Need help w/DHawk metal stealth case

It's an aftermarket case and made of metal, so the tolerances are probably not very good. I have not seen them in person but know there have been mention of off sizes of some dimensions for some of their parts. You could add a careful drop of red loctite or crazy glue on the surface of the case and ...

Re: Need help w/DHawk metal stealth case

Welcome aboard. :D Dhawk Racing products are made in China which really isn't the global center of excellence for precision fit and finish. In extreme cases when clearances are very large, I've also used JB weld to tighten the fit of bearings. Like CA and Loctite, be careful to prevent the epoxy see...

Re: How to clean/refurbish steel ball studs?

I drilled and tapped a nylon block to clamp in my vise. It holds 8 ball studs. I use my dremel with a wire brush. I can do all the studs in about 10 minutes. It used to take me a couple hours and sore fingers to do them before.

Re: Original stealth transmission, any differences ?

The 6565 is the correct case for app early 2.25 Stealth vehicles. The Worlds re-re used a different case and idler gear but the early parts are generally considered better. As to the packaging, who knows? Saying that they were inconsistent would be an understatement. Being inconsistent is probably w...

Re: Vintage Nylon Parts Durability

Don't boil them but warmer water is better. And they need time to rehydrate. They have been drying out for 30 years, its going to take more than 5 minutes to undo it.
