Re: MRC MRX
Always liked the look of these myself too. It almost felt like the pre-cursor to the Optima Mid being released, and once it did the MRC was hugely overshadowed and faded from memory. That was a shame I think as this car initially showed masses of potential. I remember it actually being confused for ...

Pb Mini Mustang Survivor
Back in the late 80's I was invited to join a team from one of my local clubs to race in a Jimmy Davis-sponsored 24hour charity race at the (UK-famous) Donisthorpe track. The club was Perry Common Buggy Club and at that time, in around 1986-7 the car to have (indoors on carpet) was the Pb Mini Musta...

Re: Pb Mini Mustang Survivor
11.jpg 12.jpg 13.jpg 14.jpg 15.jpg Back in the day, which was slap bang in the middle of the British 'heatshrink ESC' era.... this would have almost certainly have boasted a Demon King or Proking ESC, stuck down on top of the transmission tunnel, and had a Demon red label motor powering it. These w...

Re: PB buggies. Post your pics.
Thought it was time to reignite this thread and throw up a couple of pictures of my PB Ace. As I've posted elsewhere I'd love to recreate the mid motor PB Ace at some point, very little information to go off other than the one pic in an early magazine which showed the prototype car with the mid mot...

Re: PB buggies. Post your pics.
I might as well drop this in here seeing as the thread is alive again.... Mini Mustang racer in lovely survivor condition. This one will get raced so is never going to be shelf-perfect.

Re: PB ECO - Reliving my yuff.
As has been mentioned above... use a modern sponge insert to reduce or remove the flat spot.... unless it is for the shelf, in which case, it is only flat on the bottom!!! The Dynamite tyres were overlooked in the UK a little i think, which is surprising really considering how generally 'spiked' the...

Factory long wheelbase TCP new build
I was recently very very fortunate to get chatting to a gent who used to be heavily involved in the upper-echelons of Traxxas UK, and after quite a bit of discussion he agreed to send me some of the remaining Traxxas parts he has left over from his days with the company. Turns out he was a lovely an...

Re: Factory long wheelbase TCP new build
In my initial post I really should have remembered to thank TRX-1-3 for helping me muddle through the parts and informing me what was what.... i am a total Traxxas newbie afterall. So a massive thanks for that.

Re: Factory long wheelbase TCP new build
Thanks for the link Retro RC.... you are correct. Pretty much everything i need to finish the car is still listed! This has also made me focus a little more on the parts I actually have and to be honest I think I have everything i need to build up the complete gearbox, apart from that i have zero be...

Re: Any tips on reducing a collection
I am fortunate that there is a fairly large outbuilding on our property which is used primarily as a garage, but the footprint is pretty large (can take 6 cars) and the roof space above had already been converted into an office before i bought it. That space has inadvertently become my own hobby roo...

Demon MF-1 / MF-83 1/12th Car
Not all of you will be aware that as well as motors and ESC's, Nick Adams of Demon Power products also dabbled in the 1/12th market, and for the 1983 season he developed his 'Demon MF-1' car (sometimes also called the MF-83 designating the year). The car was designed with significant help from Mervy...

Re: PB buggies. Post your pics.
That looks great matey - very very tidy. In my experience the Pb cars were excellent on flat carpet and tarmac tracks, which is why i think some of them have survived in such great condition. I know my Maxima was raced almost entirely on carpet as the owner had an 870c for off-road racing, although ...

Re: Another MMS 4wd Concept Car, and an MMS 2wd
Just having a quick play-about with the red 2wd car (which is fabulous).... as I am stuck offshore with it so cannot really do too much more to it until i get home. I have a bag of vintage decals here with me so have added a spattering, all old school UK products and shops. I recall countless RC10's...

Re: Associated 05 modified
Directly quoting a previous post from motor guru Mike Haswell.... '...when they ran 1/12th with gas/IC engines they couldn't exceed 0.5 size engines (most ran with 0.49) and then when electric came along that was the term coined for the motors that met with the ROAR regulations for the class as most...

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Love the build! What wheels are those? Thanks Sprocket. The wheels are Gisom alloys. They came in various fitments and offsets so you have to ensure you have the correct ones. I have a set on my Concept Car also, but the rears have a shallower dish, and as such I have had to use a pair of SRM space...
