Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower
coxbros1, not at all surprised by your findings. Small gains make a big difference. Have you checked the magnets for centering whilst rebuilding your motors? I have performed similar like for like comparisons, all with the same result. My goal would be to turn the timing back to achieve the same rev...

AYK Pro Radiant Flaming Hot Body!!
This is the look that has haunted me since I was a kid after re-reading this mag review over and over again. Flames were my signature paint scheme during my racing days, thanks largely to this car (and the Radio Race Car 870c mag review). I have just enough spares to build one more Pro Radiant, so i...

OAKLEY display solution
I have been looking for a safer way to store and display a few of my builds and have had a sneaky search for Oakley display cabinets going on in the background for a while now. We have three young kids, two of which are under 5 so they do tend to play with my RC cars like ''toys'' when they get thei...

Re: SG Coyote improvements
Cool thread - always interested in Coyote mods!
We did the alloy motor mount mod with heatsink ribs/air flow grooves and it works well.

And then I have a 20 with a black label..... plus i have seen a photo on a forum of brand new in packet 18 and 20 both of which also have black labels. As such, there is definitely ...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower
1300GT - those are super nice. Thanks for posting. I really like that Checkpoint. I have a couple of Reedy Igarashi modifieds... which I believe to be pretty special, although i have only opened one of them up for a nose so far. These are ex-Walt Bailey Mike Reedy 1981 1/12th US Nationals motors. 11...

Re: UK Lightweight Racer
Little bit of rough n ready motor plate lightening to match the overall theme of the rest of the car... It is a bit scuffed up but as it was the original plate which came with the chassis and already had the elongated motor slot I was really keen to retain and use it. All that has been done is the n...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower
Blue, white, and black were common colors for Igarashi endbells. Color isn't really an indicator of who (Reedy. Bolink, Trinity, etc.) might have sold the motor. Reedys were typically blue, but there were MRP, Bolink, and Parma blue cans too. Yup, he nailed it down!..Definitely tru vintage MRP had ...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower
These just arrived today.... an original and unused Checkpoint slot armature, an MG one (never come across an MG slot armature before), and a bag of bits and bobs... notable for the slot brush gear hoods and brushes, plus a pair of round heatsinks which are actually designed to be pushed on to the t...
