Re: Newbie with Race Motor and AE RC10
It's been said before but worth mentioning again. Boiling the nylon parts will make them more pliable and less prone to breakage. Actually, I've never broken an RC10 arm but I have broken front and rear arm mounts and steering blocks and castor blocks (probably more broken steering blocks than anyth...

Re: Ultima LWB
The motor guard is finished (.060" aluminum). I have an original Ultima motor mount plate but it's bent and has a stripped screw hole so I've gone ahead and made a replacement using the same .090" aluminum plate material used to make the front kickup plate. P1010532.JPG P1010531.JPG A simp...

Re: “ToyAto Crawler” HG-P407 (the black kit)
XLR8 what did you use for the chrome strip around the door ways ? Looks really nice , the whole truck looks very nice . Thank you Dadio. I have a roll of adhesive-backed aluminum foil tape that came from Lowes - it's meant for sealing HVAC ductwork. The foil is thin and has no coating so it stretch...

Re: Newbie with Race Motor and AE RC10
Cool! Just measured 'em, and the rear beater wheels are standard 2.2"! Since they're the one piece glue on design, I had to break out the Super Glue to glue the tires down, since they were spinning on the wheels(VERY bad!). Don't worry, I checked the Traxxas forum before I used supergl...

Re: 1:8 Kyosho 4246 Williams Renault FW14 EP
Yeah, it seems unlikely it would go 5 minutes with two motors - but it might be twice the fun. :D Anyway, I'm looking at these on ebay right now. Apparently they made them in 1/10 scale as well - no cantilever shocks or independent suspension however so I'll just pass on them. If it were mine, I cou...

Re: calculate shaft distance for given 48dp ratio
Maybe you could have a look at this site: https://www.engineersedge.com/gear_formula.htm You can calculate the center distance if you know the number of teeth and the diametral pitch. As an example, using the equation C=(Ng+Np)/2P, the center distance for a 48DP 20t pinion and its 26t gear would be ...

Re: Newbie with Race Motor and AE RC10
Awesome! Congratulations on running your very first RC race. :D The last time I raced RC was in Feb. 1994 and I miss it so much - those were happy times. Anyway, yeah I totally forgot about the transponder requirement. I'm a little surprised that it caused you so much trouble. 2.4 Ghz radios are ple...

Re: 1:8 Kyosho 4246 Williams Renault FW14 EP
Wow, so many options - and I had no idea these cars even existed. Well, that's why I'm here.
That EVO2018 is nothing short of incredible!! Definitely blurs the line between a static replica and an RC.

Re: Ultima LWB
Wow Doug! That's advanced modelling right there. I don't think I'd manage the body like you did. Thank you sir. Coming from you, that is very high praise indeed. Kyosho makes creating 3d models of their parts less difficult than it otherwise would be by providing very good illustrations in their in...

Re: NEW TO RC10's BUT NOT TO RC'ING
Hello and welcome aboard. :D From your photo, it appears that you have a 6-gear tranny (left) and a Stealth tranny RC10. Anyway, might I suggest a little trip down RC10 memory lane? Here's a link that will help you identify what you have, approximately when it was made, etc. It's a good place to beg...

Re: Graphite build opinions
Jake, you've spark my curiosity. Someday when I'm caught up on some other projects, I'm gonna swap out a graphite chassis under my worlds car to see how it affects handling. These cars seem to respond to a little extra weight down low so I donno but it should be an interesting experiment.
