I couldn't agree more - the car looks great! In fact, all the cars posted here so far look great.
Chris, yours reminds me that I definitely need a green car in my RC collection.
Would you mind sharing which paints you've used?
It's amazing how far that arm has walked on the shaft. Yes, MCI does offer this motor decal -- although, your decal appears to have cleaned-up nicely so you might want to keep it original. https://mciracing.ca/collections/motor-decals/products/540-motor-decal-monster-horsepower-pink-and-black Anyway...
Hi Rich and welcome aboard. Everything recommended here works except for some reason I've never had much luck with Simple green. For the nylon parts, I prefer to use dish soap, very hot water, and an old tooth brush. I think it's important to remove all traces of grease and oil before the peroxide s...
I would like to clean it up, keep as many of the original parts as I can, and get it in running condition. I like restoring vintage stuff. I'm with you brother. Happiness is having an old RC10 to restore. :D I just recently finished two of them and both are now in excellent running condition - but ...
First post, welcome aboard. :D The Pro transmission is a great upgrade, that's for sure. A lot depends on track conditions and driving style but, for what it's worth, I ran variety of 10 and 12t single and multi brushed motors on 7 cell (8.4v) bitd and I didn't experience any reliability problems wi...
Interesting perhaps but I always struggled with the CAT's integrator. Running the integrator adds one additional ball differential between the motor and tires overall and potentially a total of three ball differentials between the motor and front tires. In order to prevent the three differentials sl...
Sorry , I never meant to confuse. I never ran my CATs with anything as mild as a 16t motor on 7.2 volts as you are planning to do. Like Dadio says, you will be fine with the kit transmission. However if you ever move up to a hot motor and 8.4v, you might also consider going with the pro diff....
No problem at all! Appreciate every bit of info. Might be a good idea to just get a pro transmission, install stock, and later when or if I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it to reinstall the pro. I think I wouldn’t have bothered much but because I couldn’t find (or maybe missed it) proper info on ma...
Thanks for the advice. Here's an update: Custom Works: Actually, CW does have ball studs in stock but they are the "short" version (8121). The price is $8.00 for 6 studs. These will work for steering but the camber links will require the longer version (8122) which are out of stock. From t...
Glad to hear Sally is leaving. We are still deep in smoke here, enough that i am not working in the shop at all. That case is looking great! Really nicely done! So, the final step is to drill the screw holes for mounting the case to the chassis and the top brace plate and its spacer. This is where ...
So you're looking for steel ball studs, give me a count of what you need for the build if you are okay with used but not destroyed ball studs I have a bunch of take offs from when I went aluminum........... they will just need a cleaning. Also are they black or shiny with hex no hex? Jake Thanks Ja...
