Re: Is this much spur gear/diff hub gap normal?
fwiw - I had a hub like yours bitd that was badly worn. I happened upon a short length of brass tube in one of my junk boxes that seemed to fit both parts perfectly so I cut it to proper length and CA-glued it to the hub and it's been doing fine ever since. Today it's in one of my frequent runners a...

Re: Cobra 'Battery Bug'... anyone have specs?
I remember those. Mine were called Bulldogs but I'm sure they were the same. I have about a dozen, some red and some green. Give me a few minutes and I see if I can locate the instructions. Be right back... Edit, Here they are. I forgot I had blue ones as well. P1010987.JPG P1010988.JPG P1010989.JPG...

Re: Outlaw Ultima truck purchase – my very first ST
Looking at sandkil's truck, it looks like the body sits really high on these. So your options are probably pretty open for bodies. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=31302 It looks like Team Bluegroove has replacement bodies and MCI has the decals and window masks. You can also do a combined ...

Man how I wish I had a space like that.
My "hobby room" is a 30x40 inch table sat in the corner of the room. I definitely gotta do something about that.

Re: 2014 Beetle
I think its probably a little brighter than that. But you can experiment with different backing colors on some scrap lexan. This car was backed in white, before covering it with black. A silver or grey would darken it up a little, but I think black might be a bit too much. Now that you mention it, ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
I didn't really like the rear plate in black glass. Going to try and trim up some aluminum to replace it. Just a rough cut right now, plenty of sanding/polishing ahead. Then try to match the anodizing. optima33.JPG optima34.JPG Chuck Your metal working skills are impressive Chuck. You were wise to ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
I hear ya. I can't remain on one project more than a couple months before it's time to move to something else. So the list of incomplete projects just continues to grow. I tend to cycle between buggies, trail trucks, on-road and eventually land back at buggies again. Buggies are what initially drew ...

Re: Kyosho Javelin Legendary series - 30618
This is a very nicely documented build thread for the re-re Javelin. Thank you for posting it here. :D I have to agree with you about running RC's at night. Most of my trail trucks are fully lighted and it's a lot of fun to run them around in the yard in the evenings and especially at dusk when ther...

Re: B3 -- B4 parts interchange
Very different indeed!
This is an interesting question. I'm struggling to think of a single molded part that was carried over from the B3.
From trans cases to suspension uprights, the B4 is entirely different from its predecessors.

Re: Optima Mid Runner Build revisited
The plan this time is to build another runner car and I've just uploaded some part designs for printing -- for the first time. To date, every part I've gotten from printing services has been someone else's design so I'm new to the process. We'll see how this goes but so far, so good. The first item ...

Re: B3 -- B4 parts interchange
and making it even trickier, the B4 went from imperial (B4 and B4.1) to both metric and imperial (B4.2)... so some B4 parts do not interchange with...B4 edit- I could have sworn hardware and some parts changed however it may be just the transmission that went partially metric Ah yes, let us not for...

Re: Craiglist rc parts/cars posts, hilarity thread
Got a lot of laughs from this thread. Thought I'd revive it. Not Craigslist, but still funny. Guy is asking $500 for a brushed 2wd Slash. Against my better judgement, I let him know that his truck is $269 new from Traxxas. He then claimed to get $900 for his Slash, and blocked me.  ...

Re: Home theater
That's a beautiful space Chuck. Well done sir!!! I've just had another look at your Kyosho Mid and I think you are a master craftsman. My dad was a craftsman as well -- and not be training but by natural talent. He could make anything from anything and was never intimidated by the size or scope of a...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Today I received a part for my Outlaw Ultima project that was graciously donated by Factory Works (a.k.a. GoMachV).
Thank you Jeff for answering my many dumb questions and for your commitment to the vintage RC hobby.
