Re: Mark 1 Ultima ( turbo?)
Very nice work!! I've just pulled a couple examples and the rere bumper is actually a little smaller than the original version. Of course, it will still fit but I'm surprised that it isn't an exact copy. Anyway, nearly every other molded rere part is same as original - the transmission cases being t...

Re: Tamiya wheel mystery
Well, there you go. I believe Jeff has it right - these probably came from IMEX. FWIW, they are marked "Made in Taiwan". Also, upon close inspection, there are some very un-Tamiya like imperfections in the molds - not just the moldings but the actual molds. There's a very good chance these...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Legendary series - 30619
It's really unfortunate to read that your sway bar parts have broken. However, if you will contact Kyosho, I feel very confident they will send you replacements. I've had to reach out to them a couple times for replacements and both times they were extremely helpful. Customers shouldn't need to sour...

Re: Gold Pan find - Help with ID please
Definitely not a Worlds car. Looks like a CE with dyed nylon parts. Anyway, it should clean up nicely. Also, they have the rear arm mounts reversed. EDIT: Oops, apparently the late CE's came with black plastics and shock caps. Read all about it here: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t...

Re: Tamiya Bruiser nitro conversion
Brakes, who needs brakes??
They just slow you down.
Anyway, it's funny that you're thinking about brakes after the truck is running.
I'm PROUD of you Derek! You're a true gear head.

Re: Gold Pan find - Help with ID please
I've just gone back for a second look at the photos and, apart from the dust and rusty fasteners, I'm astounded by the car's excellent overall condition. Clearly, this car has seen very little use. I would never try to tell someone what to do with their possessions but if the car were mine, I'd give...

Re: Optima Mid Runner Budget Build to LWB conversion
The last batch of printed parts have arrived and, as before, everything looks very good. P1010945.JPG P1010951.JPG P1010954.JPG P1010957.JPG P1010960.JPG The only fitment problem came with the belt cover. Apparently, I’ve made the grooves that receive the lexan cover too narrow so the two parts woul...

Re: Optima Mid Runner Budget Build to LWB conversion
Hi Doug For a moment there I thought you shifted gears without using the clutch :?: :( :?: At first it looked as though you replaced all the printed parts with OEM. On closer inspection, I see that you dyed your printed parts black. So I guess I'm sayin' it looks real good! I'd be interested on a p...

Re: Tamiya 58519 - Super Hotshot - detailed build
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Especially the paint work - that just looks awesome. Well done sir!! I've never actually held or even seen a Hotshot before so it was interesting to watch you put this one together. With so many different RC models added to their catalog over past 40 plus years, Tami...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Legendary series - 30619
Impressive after sales service from Kyosho: received a Chronopost today (it's the 24h postal service here) from Kyosho Europe with replacement parts. I did contact them on Sunday evening with no expectations, while modeling parts into Tinkercad as a plan B. Not all the brands have an after sales se...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Legendary series - 30619
Well, based upon your very detailed description, I think this car is going to look spectacular. For what it's worth, I went total box art with my TO and completely ignored the painting guide included with the instructions. I don't think I even used the included paint masks. Taking some advise from F...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Something a little unusual for me: a modern buggy.
I don't know if this means that I've finally learned to accept the modern stuff
or if it means that I'm just desperate to build a new buggy from kit - probably some of both.

Re: Stadium Blitzer rebuild
I have just one 10T and it's in pieces at the moment. I got it as parts with a Graphite I picked up on ebay a few years ago. Maybe someday....
Anyway, the Blitzer looks great; a nice departure from standard box art.
