Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
This is great! I really appreciate all of your input, thanks guys! I can't afford to do this wrong and ruin the original parts, and hearing all of your success stories, and best practices, makes me feel more comfortable about doing this. First, I soaked all of the white plastics in water, it has be...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
After soaking in the water, the nylon seems to have become more supple, and the fade isn't as crispy or dry looking. https://i.imgur.com/3GWm6ZZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZOyMLKm.jpg Wondering if I even need to do the peroxide now. I'll wait to see what the water did for these tomorrow, and then deci...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Actually it is recommended you boil the parts after they completed a peroxide bath. With no support I have always done this before. My thoughts were that if the nylon is dehydrated it would absorb water/fluid. So I wanted to hydrate the nylon with plain water first so the peroxide would only be on ...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
Oh darn, a thought just occurred to me. :( In addition to the wrong shocks, the kit will likely include bushings not bearings, the nylon could be very white and it probably won't come with a printed manual. But you know what? I DON'T FREAKING CARE! If the quality is like the 40th (and why woul...

Re: Brush Painting Aluminum/Chrome Details inside Lexan - First Attempt
Have you considered using chrome foil (applied to the outside) rather than paint?
Granted, foil isn't as durable as paint but it should be fine for display.
I've used it a number of times.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
I can't say if there is a time limit but it's possible you will want to leave the very yellowed parts in the bath longer than the others to achieve a more uniform color.
I reckon you already knew that.

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
And, here it is!!
The webpage presentation is beautiful! Well done AE.

Pre-orders are limited to 2 units this time so I think they're gonna go fast.

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
Thanks for the heads up, just nabbed one to be safe. I'll get a backup from amain when they list em. I have some trust issues with AE fulfillment after seeing some friends get hosed on the CC and 40th kits Yeah, I'm gonna wait for Amain and/or Liquid. Notice the foam gasket on the Stealth and singl...

I'm happy they are including an "anti PLOW" front bumper.
I hate it when my bumper plows.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
My memory is failing but aren't the inner holes for screwing the gear to a slipper clutch?
I think if you've fully populated the outer set of holes, you should be good. For reference, an early AE spur only holds 8 balls so installing more is just a bonus.
