The diff balls on the outside are much better, thanks @XLR8! https://i.imgur.com/RYNiTMe.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2AtT80u.jpg https://i.imgur.com/p9oBXur.jpg https://i.imgur.com/VOSrppV.jpg Should be easier to complete this from here on out. Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

For those who don't feel they've suffered enough anguish, torment and frustration in their lives, Tower Hobbies has posted the 10T for pre-order. I've been monitoring Horizon, Amain and Liquid as well to see which one posts the truck first. Also, I wanted confirmation that the 10T wasn't bein...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

The kit is up on Tower's site although it may be largely symbolic. Similar to the experience of others, Tower has not filled some of my preorders, RC10 40th included. https://www.towerhobbies.com/product/rc10t-classic-kit/ASC7002.html I'm very surprised that you still haven't received your 40th. &q...

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

The chassis is finished so thought I'd post an update. P1010001.JPG P1010005.JPG The tub has spent some time as a buggy so a quick coat of matte black hides the scratches. P1010010.JPG I've had a couple new sets of these threaded shock bodies for a while and this seems like a good project to use a s...

Re: Really off topic - End of an Era

I've been a Honda fan since my first motorcycle when I was about 10 years old - an XL70 - and I've been riding Honda's ever since. Today, the collection includes a couple early CB750's a CBX (6 cylinder, 24 valves) and a VFR (V-four, fuel injection) and each bike is a marvel of engineering. My daily...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Holy smokes, Mike!

A few parts from FanRC for a couple future builds arrived yesterday.
Everything looks nice; those shocks are impressive!. We'll see how they build but the parts certainly look high quality.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Funny part is they didn't add that part of the instructions to the 40th manual and only show 2 small spacers on the shaft, no surprise if you run the car that way the axles hit the arms which led me to look up the old instructions. https://i.imgur.com/w1eK5fD.jpg There are a couple big differences ...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

... We are running chinese $1 a pop bearings these days vs the $80 high end NMB bearings sets back in the day. That's true and the difference is night and day. I have some of those early metal shielded bearings and they're still smooth and spin forever. By contrast, I've had to replace many of the ...

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

I've installed the electronics this afternoon so it's a runner now. Reedy 1523MG, Dynamite branded HW 1060, and a Corona Futaba compatible Rx. P1010016.JPG I have the body cut and fitted so I just need to mask and apply paint. Still waiting for decal sheet from MCI. The front tires are original 10T ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

About the chassis it is certainly thinner and lighter than the original. It's like the CC. I don't have the classic reissue so can't comment on that one. Do you have actual thickness numbers to support the thinner claim? From my research, I have heard the 40th is as thick as an original variant. I ...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Though it was overkill for my cars and my ability, I ran the 1985 ESC-190 Pro (P) black sticker, golden letters, 6 + 2 FET. Bought it as soon as I could afford it. Tekin ESC190.JPG It was the only ESC I ran for probably 10 years and it still runs just like new. Still in my Delta Spyder. delta5.JPG ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

I'm actually an engineer and have lots of precision calipers You have to appreciate the irony of you following up this statement by showing what looks to me any standard digital micrometer, and its battery being held in place with masking tape. Is that thing NIST traceable? Maybe it's a...
