Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
FWIW the original AE steering bellcrank is bright white and a much harder plastic. Fan RC is not the correct color. It's possible he did that on purpose or decided to use the same nylon as the other parts. AE_bellcrank.JPG That's all true and the original parts were not reinforced and were known to...

Re: Associated RC-1 Ad
Oh man, this takes me back. I've probably shared this before but I was riding with my dad in Springfield Il around that time when we notice a crowd forming at the JCPenny's parking lot on the corner of S. Grand and Dirksen Pkwy. They were racing these cars and it was probably my first exposure to RC...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
I am so happy to see that Cliff and Curtis are still involved with AE -- with Cliff as senior engineer consultant and Curtis as racing product development director. According to Linkedin, former company president Shawn Ireland left AE late last year and even former marketing director Jeff Johns (Axi...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
Well, it's the 15th and we're venturing into "late June" territory.
Man, this month is dragging.

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
FWIW, I received an email update around 9:30 PM tonight that the status of my order has changed to "awaiting shipment".
This is first notice I've seen since placing the order one month ago. I hope this means we're getting close.

Re: Finding a diff for the Axial SCX10 transmission
I've stumbled upon something interesting tonight. The gear diff assembly for the Kyosho Dirt Master will drop right into the Axial/Austar/Injora transmission cases. The Kyosho diff is the same width, tooth pitch and tooth count as the stock diff-less gear. All that is required are a couple 10x16x4mm...

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
There's a thread around here somewhere in which the FanRC shocks are being discussed and there was some talk about the thread pitch of the bodies/caps. It's different or the same as the originals? Anyway, I'll go look for that thread. AE plastic caps might not fit Fan bodies. But I'm not sure of th...

Re: Finding a diff for the Axial SCX10 transmission
I ordered one and it arrived today, printed a pair of bearing adapters cause who has 10x16 bearings on hand lol. Fits and works well! Now, I will say it's a little wider than stealth but that's not a bad thing especially if AE continues to make their CVA shafts too short lol. This will also work we...

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
I'm hoping for the team car as well but maybe it will be something completely different like an on-road pan car - a 10L perhaps?
With Christmas coming at the end of the year, maybe the best is yet to come.
Really happy with the direction my favorite RC maker has taken this year.

Re: Looks like AE is going to actually have vintage parts support
I guess we'll need to wait to see what parts they will offer. I have mixed feelings about this. Competition is good for consumers and we need AE back in the game but the market for vintage RC10 parts is relatively miniscule and I wonder if there's room for two. I worry about companies like FanRC who...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
FWIW, if AE's stock runs out, you could order your 10T from Go Fast Hobbies and Raceway. I just received an email saying their stock has arrived. I've ordered from Go Fast a few times recently and they are a trusted source. https://www.gofasthobbies.com/products/asc-7002 Free shipping on orders over...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Regarding box art, I saw a YouTube video that claims the box art is more orange than it should be. Should "box art" be orange, or PS 19 camel yellow backed with orange? Also, how is everyone painting the black portions? I painted this one a few years ago after reading somewhere that it wa...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
I wonder if FanRC will make parts for the DS. We're still waiting for AE to offer spares for the RC10 and '10t so maybe they should. What do y'all think? Is this it starting, or were these there before? https://www.associatedelectrics.com/teamassociated/parts/spare_parts/ Well, everything is marked...

Preorders are open, 369.99 https://www.associatedelectrics.com/teamassociated/cars_and_trucks/RC10DS/Classic_Kit/ Hmmm, no mention of it being a limited edition and expected to arrive late July -- wait, that's now. " At Team Associated we don't think that parking lot racing means a car...
