Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
What a weird thing to reproduce.... it wasn't the most popular kit even when it was new. Probably simply due to it's easily and cheaply manufactured due to recently having the aluminum tub and trans already in previous re-re models. I agree, it's an odd thing to re-release. In addition to parts alr...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
The RC10DS is out of pre-order. We should start seeing these in shops soon. https://60years.associatedelectrics.com/rc10ds-classic-kit/ I'm going to have to wait a bit, but definitely want one. Will be looking for one at LiquidRC, or Michael's, Nitro Hobbies is good too. ASC8082 is the part number....

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Really looking forward to hearing exactly what wheelbase settings are available, the DS should be a great custom body platform, with lots of places to drive it. A well lit covered/underground parking lot would be a raceway for these, year round. I agree. Our local HS parking lot is smooth, clean an...

Re: How to build, original or with quality of life improvements
Thankfully, we don't all drive EV's or AAMCO wouldn't even exist. I'll let that thought sink in. Okay, sorry, back to the Joseph's question. I like to build with what I have at the moment, then go back and replace parts as they become available. I really don't like having boxes of parts setti...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
... With those gold DS stock wheels, I ordered an HPI Trans Am Bandit body, the wheelbase should be about right. https://i.imgur.com/8h14cBC.jpg ... Ooh, great choice!! I've been looking at that TA body myself. It looks a little wide but otherwise, it appears that HPI did a great job replicating th...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
What is all this crazy talk? No love for Tommy Kendall's Mustang?  I was actually surprised (then and now) that AE didn't do the String Ray body as a call back to the Dead Pool movie. Actually, I think TK's 'Stang looks great and AE's body looks very close to the real car. I like a...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Just hit the HPI website for some answers: The wheels on the TA in the photo are discontinued but I'm sure Tamiya and others make a similar wheel. The TA body is 200mm x 254mm wheelbase so it won't simply drop-on the DS without some work. Having integrated wheel flares might limit how the wheel arch...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I wasn't planning to buy one of these right now but I got impatient and ... well... here it is.
Anyway, I've taken advantage of Paypal's Pay-in-4 no-interest installment plan and here I am again yielding to the evils of play today, pay tomorrow.

Re: looks like we need a rere associated on road section next!
Given my passion for vintage VW's, I will be looking for a full body vw bug body that fits the wheelbase and width... if anyone has any ideas please let me know👍 Found this beetle body with a 260mm wb, I have no idea what the quality is like though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/204140700792 Oh wow. Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build
I've never built a DS so I appreciate that you're documenting your build here.
I'll definitely be coming back when I'm ready to build mine.
Thanks.
