Re: It's starting now (Apr2020)... CWF (tub) and Shiny RC10
Perhaps the carbon is laminated over a production AE aluminum tub and this results in some extra space? Thanks for the suggestion. This is also what first came to my mind... I checked, and it doesn't square, the rest of the chassis is exactly the right dimensions. so it's not like they formed their...

Re: Tomahawk rere driving experience
Thanks for the responses. Obviously the Ultima will be the better performer. I was just curious about how the Tomahawk compared to the Tamiya buggies of the same time period. My FAV already has oil dampers on the rear which helped with the "bouncy" nature of it. Sounds like the Tomahawk is...

Re: Painting a body
How come no mention of Parma's FasKolor paints, or Createx, AutoAir? All are water-based and cleanup is so much easier. Plus, your lungs and health will appreciate it. You can paint in your home with a simple paint box and not have acrylic lacquer fumes permeate your basement for a week. I've totall...

Re: Ebay Dhawk all aluminum components
I have three sets of the parts. They're pretty nice parts but have a few caveats. The rear arms and mounts need a little finessing to get them working smoothly. The front steering linkage are metric so the screws really don’t work with the chassis. I had issues fitting an outer bearing in the 6 gear...

Kyosho EP Ultima RB Type-R - brought off the shelf.
My Kyosho EP Ultima RB Type-R, last time I ran it at OCRC was back around 2010-2012. I originally bought it back in Dallas, TX somewhere between 2001-2002. It currently has a Trinity P2K Pro 27T Stock brushed motor with a 22T pinion, some off brand reversable brushed ESC I pulled off my Redcat Black...

Re: Subaru Impreza rally car build
I'm really getting into these road cars. During my 20 year hiatus from the RC hobby, I've completely missed the touring car era so I'm trying to make up for lost time. :D I have at least four more on-road builds in the works at the moment: a custom RC10-based Greenwood Vette, a Mustang GT4 from Tam...

Re: Subaru Impreza rally car build
That turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
I doubt Tamiya will switch to hex screws anytime soon. That's like asking for bearings instead of plastic bushings
No other company can touch them as far as number of kits to build. They have tons!

Re: Subaru Impreza rally car build
The Impreza looks amazing, you nailed it! 8) Great job on the rear body mount, on both of mine they stick through the rear window which is not great. I agree, the Tamiya body sets are really very good in detail and scale likeness. There are so many great looking on-road bodies that is difficult to d...

Re: Subaru Impreza rally car build
I'm a little envious. I've never owned a Subaru but I've admired them since the Brat was introduced back in the '80's. You're probably gonna be a bit disappointed with the finished rally car as it is just box art. Don't be too envious. Its a fun car, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't bring all the...

Re: It's starting now (Apr2020)... CWF (tub) and Shiny RC10
Shocks, some bottom loaders - nothing special, they just went through a rebuild - They have #3 pistons F/R, but again, for shelf duties, this will be ok  previously polished by the previous owner - not perfect but I don't have the gear to make it better, so it's close enough and will be discre...

Just came across this cool old video.
Brings back memories, seems like a much simpler time compared to modern living. I need to invent a time machine....
I like Joel's advice to improve your skills......um, stay off the dots, lol!

Re: I started something...
Hi, Yesterday night, i used my fingers to polishing the other plate of the chassis, i changed every 2.6mm srews by 3mm Inox A2 ones after drilling all holes by M3. I started the build like the manual says, tonight i finish the Diff and maybe continue to polishing ;) https://media.joomeo.com/large/5e...
