Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

Gotcha doug, Springfield is way north of us. If those shocks leak it is the tiny inner orings. I have never found replacements. I did buy a nip front set that came with 4 extra and i used them on my leaking ones and it fixed it. Mounting upside down is only other option.

Re: 10LSO Resto

I took it out for a trial this morning. The tires didn't grip as well as I'd hoped. It was only about 45 degrees Fahrenheit or so which didn't help any either. The stock Wimpy is a beast too which also didn't help, but it is sweet! It looks lie I didn't have it slipping, but I did. I thought I had i...

Re: 10LSO Resto (Video added)

Very cool! It can be really frustrating when the back end keeps snapping around. Is it possible to hold the back of the car, spin the tires against the pavement and build a little heat in them? If I'm not mistaken, the rubber compound for caps will soften as it warms and become more sticky. Yes, I ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

Cleaning , polishing and a little paint. Hours of cleaning. Hours of sanding. Hours of polishing. And a little paint on the wheels. Toothbrush with simple green, dishwashing detergent and marvel mystery oil. 220grit, 320, 400, 800, 1000, 2000 and 3000. May be 50% of the way done with cleaning and po...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

Doug, the only time I tried adhesion promoter on Lexan was when I dipped some bodies.
Not really sure of effectiveness as my dipping results were kind of mixed.
A couple of pretty nice successes and one or two failures. Pretty steep learning curve on hydrodipping for a novice.

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

Chuck, Kyosho Le Mans never made a 27t stock motor. They did have 2 Super stock motors with 20 and 34 degree fixed timing , closed endbell, bushings....but that wasnt stock.

Back then, RWD and 4WD cars competed together as few 4WD's could outrun the RC10...the Optima changed all that, and ...

Re: Tamiya fox value?

What's it worth questions are normally against the rules, but since you're not looking for the value of something you personally own, it's cool. :) The only answer I can give is the one we always do. The classic it's worth what you're willing to pay line. The problem with vintage R/C is that there's...

Re: Servo Spec Question

Because 4.8-6 volts are still commonly used in BEC'S. NIMH receiver packs are still used as well.

Servos made for high voltage typically have those ratings as well.
